"Baby Genius" as written by and Jim Lang Mark Everett E....
Baby genius
Look how you've grown
Where do you go from here?
Didn't we have some good times
After all is said and done?

Small body and small mind
Big head and big headaches
My back is broken
Baby genius
Find a new ride

General Commentthis is one of the prettiest songs ever, on a beautiful if not slightly depressing album. i like the line 'big head and big headaches' because i believe the more you think and know, the more problems you are faced with and i think this is what is meant by that.

General CommentThis is supposed to be a put-down on Tommy Walter, most likely after he left the eels. I like the line that say's, "My back is broken baby genius, find a new ride", because that's exactly what Walter has done, and better. Walter has grown into a "musical Genius". Guess who's small now...heh.

General CommentI really don't care about the fight between Tommy and E, I like the eels very much, haven't heard any abandoned pools yet. but anyways I think it's a childish reaction of both of them to put each other down in their music (E puts Tommy down in this song and the "Tommy's fired" bit in Dog's life, Tommy puts E down in the remedy) I find this one more subtle than Tommy's one, which I consider rather low

General Commentmaybe you got that from the line in world of shit "daddy was a troubled genius".
not sure about this song, there's not much of a tune to it.

General CommentHm. I don't know much about the Eels' band fluctuations, but since someone's mentioned it, it does look as if it's a put down.

"Didn't we have some good times after all is said and done?"

"small body small mind," small talent, small ability
big head, big headaches" Big ego, big pain

I don't care for this song. It's musically weak.
