"Mudshovel" as written by and Michael J. Mushok....
You take away
I feel the same
All the promises you made to me
You made in vain
I lost myself inside
Your tainted smile again

You can't feel my anger
You can't feel my pain
You can't fell my torment
Driving me insane
I can't fight these feelings
They bring only pain
You can't take away
Make me whole again

I feel betrayed
Stuck in your ways
You rip me apart with the
Brutal things you say
Can't deal with this shit anymore
I just look away

You take away
I feel the same
All these promises
You promised only pain
If you take away
And leave me with nothing again

You will feel my anger
You will feel my pain
You will feel my torment
I'll drive you insane
I won't fight these feelings
I will bring you pain
I won't take away
I'll be whole again

General CommentI always thought this song was about getting beaten down and then seeking vengeance on the person (hence the last verse.) I had no idea about the anal sex thing though. That's fuckin weird. Not to mention at this one party I was at we were drinking Mudslide and for some reason started calling it mudshuvel. ...eep.

General Commentthis is a great song. and like everyone else is saying the relationship gets screwed up the girls cheats and the guy gets back at her. That's also really clear in the music video ^_^

General CommentAside from being one of the best songs ever, Mudshovel is about a dysfunctional relationship, one in which the guy knows the girl is cheating on him. So, to get back at the girl, the guy cheats on her. (Hence the last chorus lyric changes.)

Mudshovel is also a term for anal sex that one of Aaron's friends used, and he said he'd name a song after it and mudshovel was born. Mudshovel has nothing to do with the song, though.
