yesterday's sorrow
not forgot in tomorrow
stolen just like a baby
in a world full of maybes
for the thought of a dollar
and taught hate of a color
born two days 'til we play the routine,
of a game thats so old and obscene
today all the troubles exceed
as the media helps destroy dreams
with the two can't irreverent it seems
we can't find the mean between extremes
then go

i pretend all the white boys
talk it back to the black toys
and they return to work the next day
and they think in a different way
they talk of the last man
of a cheap and depressed man
funny how it seems that some never even see
what's been built and then taught to believe
is it thought that some races don't bleed
or that pain is just something for me
if you think that then brother, you'll see
the blood will just spill to eternity
hey

is it thought that some races don't bleed?
or that pain is just something for me?
with the two can't irreverent it seems
we can't find the mean between extremes
alright

General CommentVery philisophical song. I love this song, because you can tell he put a lot of thought into it, and this song must mean a lot to him. It's about greed, and wealth, and racial discrimination, of course. It talks about lost dreams due to the media, and how everyone tries too hard to be perfect, while they become violent and attack everyone else they see flaws in. Very good Jimmy! I wish he'd sing more songs as meaningful as this because they have the most potential and purpose in them. However it's not as emotional as his later works, like the tragically beautiful Medication, Miseryhead, I'm a Monster, or best of all, Broken, which just stun you with awe every time you hear it. Then again, everything Ours does conveys some sort of reproachful or beautiful message, that no one can quite fully understand. That's what I love the most about them! I hope they don't try to get too popular and keep up the good work!
