i close your eyes with my mouth
now you don't see anything
but you feel my breath all over
i can feel you too

although i don't really know you
i don't really care

cry with me, make my day
tomorrow all will be gone
all the sweetness and all the fun
no, i don't wanna know...

although i don't really know you
i don't really care

now that you're gone i don't know
how to really feel inside
baring the hope to see you again
i guess i never will

now that i do really know you
yes, i really care!

General Commentcan´t believe noone made a comment on this song yet!this is by far my favorite song by the gathering.the guitar licks in the intro are not from this world and the birdsongs add an extra feeling to the atmosphere.about the lyrics, I think they´re about someone(most probably a girl) who´s feeling lonely and met someone else, had sex with this person and now s/he is gone, with very little probability of seeing him/her again.back then it was carpe diem, but now the person might be feeling used or patheticly discardable.

General CommentThey might have wanted to use the person, when they had felt used, but now have fallen in love. So the one-night stand has become something special to the person who wanted only a one-night stand!

General CommentI love the Gathering and I love this song.

I definitely feel that this song is about someone seeking a moment of freedom within a stranger. I think that this song is definitely about a one night stand, but one party in a one night stand temporarily seeking some kind of false love for only a moment, "cry with me, make my day, tomorrow all will be gone".

Crying is a deep emotion to have with someone, especially someone that you just met. So I definitely feel like the character in the song wants some false emotion just because it'll make them feel better, even temporarily. They know the emotions aren't real, but they just want the indulgence, the illusion of something intense, deep and real.

I think that the person who had the one night stand doesn't even really care, even tho she says she really cares at the end, she still doesn't really care she just wants to pretend like she cares because it makes her feel better. She's willing herself to care, to feel. "Now that you're gone, I don't know, how to really feel inside." But she said she just wants her "day made", so she knows how she feels inside honestly speaking, it's in my opinion a nice little play on words.

    Anyway,

great music from a great band and anneke is an AMAZING singer and kills this song with the voice as sharp as an angel's sword. Very NICE! :D

My InterpretationIt could be about a relationship with no important meaning at the beginning, someone that she is starting to know but she just want companionship, obviously because she is feeling lonely and want to pretend she has something special with someone, but at the end this relationship start to mean something to her, she doesn´t know what to feel about it because she wasn´t so into it in the first place but now that she knows him better she feels this could be someone that she really cares but is too late the person who she was with is now leaving...

Or she is at the beginning of a relationship and she is feeling the infatuation of it but she knows that she has not valid reasons to believe is more than that, she doesn´t know him well yet and the infatuation is going to end at some moment (as always does). But when the other person has to leave, she feels that the feeling of love is justified because she knows him enough to feel she could really care about him, but of course, he is leaving. (maybe this song should call "Leave" rather than "Leaves" - maybe they were thinking on the plural form of the word. English is not their mother language. Who knows.
