You dumped me like a piece of trash
You let me go just like some employee
You spent me like your petty cash
Did you ever think that you could destroy me
Right now I wish I was a billion miles away
Out past the farthest star
Floating in some nebulae cloud

Anywhere but now
Oh anywhere but now
Anywhere but in my room alone
Like a jerk waitin' by the phone
Cryin' like some indigo clown
Wish I was anywhere but now

My friends they try to cheer me up
They say that all I need is a little time
But they never drank love from your cup
I swear you changed my water into wine
Then you dropped my heart out of the
Thirteenth story window
And it shattered just like glass
Yeah I just gotta get away somehow

Anywhere but now
Oh anywhere but now
Anywhere but stuck inside my head
Drownin' in my bed
Milking teardrops from your sacred cow
Wish I was anywhere but now

Anywhere with you I would have gone
Anywhere with you is where I belong
Anywhere with you
You turn me on
Anywhere but now

General CommentThis song SHOULD'VE been a h it but but got no promotion other than the music video for it. The video was great but the problem with this industry is that without promotion, the greatest song in the world gets no play. Their record company did them wrong. So what's the song about? The universal feeling of being dumped and the feeling of having been totally duped by the other person. Lyrically it's good but add the music and vocals and you've got one song that by all rights should have been a big hit.

General CommentI agree with DLM1129 (PS - is that your b-day? I'm 1128!) I absolutely adore this song. I especially like the distinction of "now" and "here". Grammatically, it should be "anywhere but here". And sometimes, when you are in pain, if you leave then the pain will stop - like, say, if you're in a burning building, or something. So sometimes being anywhere but 'here' is enough. But sometimes you just can't run away. You have to wait it out - the 'where' doesn't matter as much as the 'when' does. Have I ever wished I was anywhere but now in my life!
