"Out The Window" as written by and Gordon Gano....
Life was fun

Life was great

'Til I made my big mistake

Oh no it'll never happen to me

Life was short

And life was sweet

I was thinking as I hit the street

I could hardly believe

I could scarcely conceive

But I had gone out the window

I had gone out the window

I had gone out the window

She was fine

She looked great

And so we made our big mistake

I swear I swear I swear

It'd never happen to her

But the pavement knocked her head around

When she hit the solid concrete ground

From 30 flights above

And she was thirty something loving nothing

Gone out the window

She had gone out the window

She had gone out the window

Catch me if I'm falling,

Catch me if I'm calling

He was smart he was wise

He'd profoundly philosophize

Empathy for all humanity

'Til one day by an open window

There's a note that read

I've gone out the window, I'm dead

He said yes to life for all of his life

But then one day he said no

I gotta go out the window

We all go out the window

Catch me I am falling

Catch me I am calling

Catch me we are falling

Catch me we are calling

General CommentMan! You missed out BIG time! If they're in town again... GO! I really like this song too, it's oddly upbeat for a song dealing with suicide. And do yourself a favour, bookmark their website, check it daily and as soon as gig near you is listed book a ticket..... Love it!!!!

General CommentYeah, I know this isn't right, but this song always reminded me of when Cameron (from Ferris Bueller's Day Off) kicked his pop's Ferrari out of the window. Look at it a while...you'll make the connections.

General CommentYep, suicide. I think he just has enough of this chick and he's so high sprited and she upset him and he just takes her with him-but leaves a note. She must not have been able to read his handwriting. "We're what!" and she changes his mind on the way donw. Must be a New York couple. They're pretty high up. Maybe

General CommentWatch Crimes and Misdemeanors by Woody Allen. This song is most likely inspired by a scene from the movie (with almost identical lines), in which a Philosophy professor commits suicide by jumping out his window. The suicide note simply says "I went out the window."

General CommentReminds me of the Velvet Underground. Lou Reed-ish.

And Cake. but that's just because they have the song "Guitar." ("If I threw my guitar, out the window...")
