"Preoccupation" as written by Neil Davidge and Jonathan Mathew Harris....
I'd laugh if it weren't for my tears
Please cry till the water is clear
Cry your so hard done by
In fright you leave them to cry

I laugh to hide from your fear
And grasp at the light of your peer
You might if the water were to dry
In spite you leave them to die

You earn your preoccupation
And burn the wrong sensation
The stop learning there
You earn you're preoccupation

And burn the wrong sensation
Then stop learning there
Maybe in 4 or 5 hundred years
Will say be a single culture here

A critical mass will appear
Your journey like water so clear
You earn your preoccupation
And burn the wrong sensation

The stop learning there
You earn you're preoccupation
And burn the wrong sensation
Then stop learning there

You me me and you are lost in all we do
Moving on from where we are
Evolves from where and who
Written in the ruins

You earn your preoccupation
And burn the wrong sensation
You earn you're preoccupation
And burn the wrong sensation

My InterpretationIt seems to me like it's about person who stops their self-development by deprivating from thier inner self/other person, perhaps lover, because the feelings he/she feels in relation to this issue terrify him/her and may destroy the present routine the person has built. It is written from the part of his/her nature, that gets rejected in the process

"I'd laugh if it weren't for my tears"
What the person does to him/herself is an absurd, but he/she really hurts himself/herself this way.
"Please cry till the water is clear"
Crying will bring the katharsis to the person and made him/her reconnect with what she/he had lost
"In fright you leave them to cry"
Suppresing what scares the person in their own nature.

"I laugh to hide from your fear"
Trying to detract oneself from their anxiety inside.
"And grasp at the light of your peer"
The speaker holds onto every rare moments of reconnection with the person.
"You might if the water were to dry"
Water symbolises life, so maybe the person tries to become dead on the inside in order to preseve their persona.
"In spite you leave them to die"
In spite of their own voice of instinct person suppresses part of their nature.

    "You earn your preoccupation
    And burn the wrong sensation
    The stop learning there"
You have built some psychical construction for yourself, you achieved some status in your environment, you live comfortable, but there's a price for it - you have to suppress all those feelings that doesn't fit to the scheme. Thus you have to stop your growth, become ignorant, etc.

"Maybe in 4 or 5 hundred years
Will say be a single culture here
    A critical mass will appear
Your journey like water so clear"
It says about the possible unification of people who will reject their individuality in the future.

"You me me and you are lost in all we do
Moving on from where we are"
Speaker tellin the person the everything is changing, stability is abstract.
    "Evolves from where and who
    Written in the ruins"
Constructions are turning into ruinsm evolution is the only way of surviving.
