Mother I have a gift for you
It's the only thing I can offer
All you know is entropy
Still you shine as the sunrise
But inside I can hear your spirit die
Your spirit dies from the inside
Your spirit dies from the inside

Dan also says 'your spirit cried from the inside'... i think that you might be right about it, though i don't know if she is a Christian or not... when i read it, i didn't consider whether she was a Christian or not, but about the struggles she ahs had through life... entropy, in this case, probably means disorder or disorganization... so, if you take it all in, it seems that his mother has had a hard life and, quite possibly, becdause she isn't a Christian she can't handle it and her spirit is 'dying'... the name Kathleen means pure and Barbra means foreign or strange, so i don't think those have much to do with the meaning...

seems to me that she's just having a really tough time with life and it's wearing on her spirit. i know the rough times wear on me like that. but God pulls us through and shelters us from what we can't take, and in the end we are stronger.

My favorite part of this whole song is when those two people talk at the end, it sounds so spooky and cool, and it has a perful messege:

"boy: It shows us horrible things" "girl: What does" "boy: Th dark inside me, from the other place. I wont go back there, I wont"

everytime I listen to this song I fast-forward to the end.

Pixdogg, that sampling was taken from a movie by the name of Event Horizon, as well as almost all of the other sampling on this AMAZING album.

If I remember correctly Liberate te ex Inferis was based off of a mix of Dante's Inferno and Event Horizon.

This sounds like it could be about all the loses his family has had. To his mom: "all you know is entropy" -of their family. And still his mom stays strong and "shine(s) as the sunrise". The gift he's offering is this song in dedication to her

for those of you who didn't take eight years of college English, i've looked up the definition of entropy.

"Inevitable and steady deterioration of a system or society." that seems to be the most relevant meaning to the song.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
