Chorus:
Change around the words that you say,
to suit me fine.

Maxi Jazz:
Predictable behavior
I crave ya
I'm driving y'all
My own is living save yeah,
Sometimes I hate ya
But I'm whipped
Being gone head down to the crypt
Restricted like a conscript
You loved to bully
I placed the blame with you
Fully...
Chorus:
Change around the words that you say,
to suit me fine.
Make them mine...

Maxi Jazz:
Don't panic
There is only we too left on the planet
I can explain..
I know it happened again, It's manic
I'm standing in the flame, trying to fan it
You don't know what you've got till it's gone
And by the edge of the night,
you nobody belong through this ad joint.
And that's what you cut. (2x)

Chorus / Background:
Change around the words that you say,
to suit me fine.
Make them mine...
Listen to the voice of your head,
It makes no sense,
Take a rest...

Maxi Jazz:
I'm addicted..

I have a demon for a wife
He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life
Takes notes on how to provoke past grief
Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self believe
Feed all day from underneath
Like a fief, I left weak, barely able to speak
I seek nothing but constant supply
I can read every look in your eyes
I leave with a lie
Maybe our love will never die
Or, maybe it's the last time I make you cry
Make my appeal like the condemned.
Let's go away for the weekend
Your life I will steal and descend with it into the pig.

I'm addicted..
Chorus:
Change around the words that you say,
to suit me fine.

Maxi Jazz:
I'm addicted..

Chorus:
Listen to the voice of your head,
It makes no sense..
Take a rest...

Maxi Jazz:
I'm addicted.. (5x)
I have a little problem
I have a demon for a wife
He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life
Takes notes on how to provoke past grief
Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self believe

Chorus:
Change around the words that you say,
to suit me fine.
Make them mine...

Maxi Jazz:
I'm addicted.. (7x)

Chorus:
Listen to the voice of your head,
It makes no sense..
Take a rest...

This is a wonderful song! I think it captures the essence of a relationship gone bad: the deceipt, twisting of words, the ability to put down the other person and make someone miserable, giving false hopes... all this that has become a habbit (although torturous), to the point where one feels addicted to the relationship.

Maxi Jazz is a phenominal lyricist/poet. he defies the conventional rap formula and truly speaks his poetry over trance club beats. Faithless deviates somewhat form their normal club constraints in this choon, but Maxi Jazz never fails to impress.

    i particularly enjoy this lyric:

I have a demon for a wife He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life Takes notes on how to provoke past grief Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self belief

Mr. Jazz's words and analogies are filled with such passion and imagery that even seemingly mundane topics (Insomnia!) are given new life.

be sure to check out his work with 1 Giant Leap, the project of Faithless offshoot Jamie Catto.

    My corrections:

"Predictable behavior, I crave ya I'm driven you're my only living savior. Sometimes I hate ya But I'm whipped Being led head down to the crypt"

... "And by the edge of the night, where nobody belong, fingers are drumming... And that's where you come in." ... "I lead with a lie" ... and it's "self-BELIEF", not "believe"

    Lyric Correction

Here's a complete re-write of the lyrics as I think they should read:

Chorus: Change around the words that you say, To suit me fine.

Maxi Jazz: Predictable behavior, I crave ya, I'm driven, You're my only livin' saviour. Sometimes I hate ya, But I'm whipped, Being led head down to the crypt. Restricted like a conscript, You love to bully, I place the blame with you, Fully.

Chorus: Change around the words that you say, To suit me fine... Make them mine.

Maxi Jazz Don't panic, There's only we two left on the planet. I can explain... I know it happened again, It's manic, I'm standing in the flame try 'na fan it! You don't know what you got 'til it's gone, I'm at the edge of the night, Where nobody belong, Fingers are drum'n', And that's where you come. (And that's there you come)

Chorus Change around the words that you say, To suit me fine,

Make them mine. Listen to the voice in your head, It makes no sense, Take a rest. (I'm addicted) (I'm addicted)

Maxi Jazz: I have a daemon for a wife, He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life. Takes notes on how to provoke past grief, Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self belief! Feed all day from underneath, Like a thief, I'm left weak, Barely able to speak. I seek nothing but constant supply, I can read every look in your eye. I lead with a lie: "Maybe our love will never die." Or, "Maybe it's the last time I make you cry." (haha!) Make my appeal like the condemned: "Let's go away for the weekend!" Your life I will steal and descend with it into the pit. (I'm addicted)

Chorus: Change around the words that you say... To suit me fine... (I'm addicted)

Chorus: Listen to the voice of your head, It makes no sense. Take a rest. (I'm addicted) (I'm addicted) (I'm addicted) (Chorus singer: I'm addicted!) (I'm addicted)

I have a little problem, I have a daemon for a wife, He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life. Takes notes on how to provoke past grief, Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self belief!

Chorus: Change around the words that you say, To suit me fine, Make them mine. (I'm addicted)

Listen to the voice in your head, It makes no sense, (I'm addicted) Take a rest. (I'm addicted) (I'm addicted) (I'm addicted) (I'm addicted)

And "Don't panic. It's only we TWO left on the planet."

Oh. I think these are the real lyrics:

"I'm at the edge of the night where nobody belongs. And that's what you get." (That might be "cut" instead of "get".)

    and

"Let's go away for the weekend Your life I will steal and descend with it into the pit"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
