"Song For Holly" as written by and Danny Esthero/saber....
I can make you want me
I can make you think you need me too...
I can reassure you that all your lies you tell yourself are true...

And if you won't let me go
I'm just harder to hold, no
I'll never let you gain control, no, no...

I'm not myself lately
I'm not even sure i know me
But i'm worth more than my name
And all the lies i tell myself are true...

You can try but it's never enough with you behind me
Because when push comes to shove, i fall
And it's my turn to handle myself now

And if you won't let me go
I'm just harder to hold, no
I'll never let you gain control... and you can say you want me...

And if you won't let me go
I'm just harder to hold, no
I'll never let you gain control, no, no...

General CommentIt's about that hard wake up call you get when you realise no one else is responsible for your feelings/mental stability/happiness except yourself; and the struggle that occurs when someone wants you to think they will shelter you when you know they can't

General CommentI agree with what Miss Mess has said about this song. Adding to that, I think one idea the song presents is the power of a woman. The lyrics explicitly say that she can make this person want/need her. How does she feel about that person? My interpretation is that this is someone she used to love and be in a relationship with, but has since realized he is not right for her. But she can make him think that everything his fine. Furthmore, he wants her to stay around when she doesn't. She says that the harder he tries to do this, the less efective it's going to be. She has already made up her mind and is ready stand on her own two feet. For a while she was content with being someone she wasn't, but has discovered she does not need to do that. Anyway, this is probably my favorite Esthero song. It's incredibly powerful and moving.

General CommentThis song is about the stripper, Holly, in the movie GO! and how she can get get men to do what she wants. Esthero wrote this song from her point of view. And that is what it is about.
