"Dancing On The Jetty" as written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Charles Farriss....
Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness

We could sit here forever
Just never get old
Listen to the world
Letting gods tie us down

Hit cities sharp knives
The right clothing
Dancing on the jetty
So our feet stay dry

Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness
Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness

Blood is upon the steps
Two thousand years ago
Play like hell that we go to fight
Another war in the holy land

Shock the world
True story
Snap decisions
And I'm always going
We're gonna watch them keep it strong

Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness
Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness

We're making trouble
We change tracks
Put the suit down
Daytime or day no less

We hit cities sharp knives
The right clothing
Dancing on the jetty
So our feet stay dry

Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness
Watch the world argue
Argue with itself
Who's going to teach me
Peace and happiness

General CommentThis song is about the the unstable waters of human relationships. The jetty rerferred to i it is sybolic of a man's attempts to create bridges over it.

General CommentThe lyric 'watch the world argue...' is printed on Hutch's t-shirt on a video clip of Listen like thieves (live in 85')

General CommentI always thought the lyrics were "So I leave stage right" instead of "So our feet stay dry." NOOOOOOOOO- mind crushed.

General CommentDancing on the Jetty, refers to avoidance of an issue or problem....not getting your feet wet. Possibly in reference to youthful disregard of all the worlds problems. Sort of being to the side of it rather than amongst it. And the actual lyric is "Letting God's tires down" just to name one, there seems to be a lot of false lyrics for this song.
