Here’s a case story ‘bout a guy named Jack.
Nobody knew what he was looking at.
He holds his arms outstretched to the sky,
And we just stare, and we laugh as he walks by.

He often walks around the town in circles.
Stopping in the stores that line the street.
Performing what he likes to call miracles
With the magic of his insanity.

So what’s that got to say about schizophrenia?
It could be a disease that’ll kill ya’
Or it could just be the words between us
That only Jack can say.

I often see Jack talking to a wall
About girls and politics.
And just because I can’t see anyone at all
I go ahead and assume the guy’s psychotic.

Then one day a voice calls out at me.
I look around but I can’t see anybody.
And then the voices in my head;
They say, "Forget about Jack,
WE WANT YOU INSTEAD!!"

So what’s that got to say about schizophrenia?
It could be a disease that’ll kill ya’
Or it could just be the words between us
That only Jack has the balls to say.

Now I just mumble to myself.
But words they never leave my mouth.
It is my silent cry for help.
Somebody let these voices out.

Now I’m the new Jack you can laugh about.
