It’s funy how the hours pass
Some go slow and some go fast
You never know whatcha gon’ get
‘Till you look into your past
There’s a whole world out there for you to have
But it seems your heart’s been cut in half
Splittin’ hairs and the perfect pairs
Wonderin’ if you do or don’t
Care about me…or you
Please tell me whatcha plan to do
Your life is yours to rearrange
But whether you break my heart or stake your claim
Has a lot to do with us
It takes two to make some love,
One to make a fuss
Three to give ‘em reasons not to trust
The way that you been livin’
Is it the shit you give or the shit you been givin’
That I should take
I don’t know
Cuz I can’t quite tell which way you’re bendin’
You got me loosendin’

Chorus:
Tie me up,
Cut your loss,
Tell me now or I’ll go off
I’m loosendin’
(X2)

There’s plenty of reasons that I can think of
For you and me to motivate the love
Instead of puttin’ things on hold
Cuz all I wanna hold is you
It’s just a matter of time
Before we’re old and gray
And our hearts and minds
Both go their separate ways
And I hope ya have somethin’ to say
Before that day
Besides the same old
“I don’t know and I don’t mind
and try askin’ me some other time”
Nod once for yes and for no
Just nod your head two times
And I’ll be fine…
Or not so fine, dependin’

ChorusX2

Yeah, I know you seen a lotta jerks
But inside this loser, a lover lurks
Hidin’ kisses filled with fireworks
I wanna be more than a friend with perks
I want benefits,
I want a pension plan
I wanna know if you even give a damn
If I could kiss your cheek
Or hold your hand in public
You know I’d love it
If you would tell me
Without a doubt
If you was checkin’ in
Instead of checkin’ out
All the other boys on the avenue
Don’t you know they only after you
For one thing?
And if that’s whatchu want, baby
I’ll be happy to give it
But the difference between me and them
Is that mine’s would have some love in it

ChorusX2

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
