I'd like to know completely
What others so discreetly
Talk about when they leave me
Not that I notice when they're gone
It's eery and so scary
I don't know who to worry
Your sister came to beat me
Oh your sister came to beat me
But I'll love it when you blink your eyes
Oh I
I want to know my body
I want this out not in me
I want to know no secrets yet
I'll leave
Oh I'll leave care
It's saved me once too often
You'll never know her often
I've pictured you in coffins
My baby in a coffin
But I'll love it when you blink your eyes
Oh I'd
I want to know my body
I want this out not in me
I want no other leakage
I want to know no secrets yet
I'll leave
Oh I'll leave
No I'll leave care
Free of distortions
Free of distortions
Free of distortions
Free of distortions
Free of distortions
Free of distortions

General CommentIts definately "bait" and not "beat".

And the main part of the video is the man transforming through his years back to his youth, his whole lifetime. The whole ultrasound thing is a metaphor for wanting to see inside yourself.

    NOT ABOUT ABORTION.

General Commentthink it sounds like "your sister came to bathe me"
    But it's probably bait.

This song is purely superb. !

My InterpretationAbortion makes sense, but the first thing that came into my mind was that he slept with his girlfriend/fiancee's sister, and possibly knocked her up. He doesn't know if he should go on with the marriage, and he desperately wants to let the secret out, but he can't.

Also possibly he is in love with the sister and wonders if he should marry her, he also fantasizes about his fiancee dying.

    Whatever it means, great song.

General CommentIn my opinion, the song is about a love-hate relationship. It seems like we're told this story by a very sensitive boy. Boy because the line "I want to know my body" suggests that he still has much to find about in life. Sensitive because he lets a girl beat him and he feels these "distortions". Plus everything he seems to be able to is write a song about his situation and tell us about his worries. It doesn't sound like he's strong enough to change anything. He is kind of obsessed by this girl he's "talking to", he loves it, when she blinks her eyes for example and calls her baby. Maybe they are even engaged. Well, this relationship seems to be distorted, because her sister beats him and he pictures her in coffins. She seems to have so much power over him that all he can do is sing this song. Sure, he's talking about leaving her, but in the same song he praises her eyes and when I hear it it makes me think of a drug addict trying to get off his drug. We don't know how often he has already sung this tune.
These distortions he's telling us of are probably strange feelings inside him, feelings that "distort" his love towards the person, he isn't happy at all with this girl, she seems to torture the feelings of this very weak guy so much, that all he can feel now are these strange distortions - he loves her but she hurts him bad and to get rid of these distortions he has to leave.

General CommentI agree with 'eyehaverabies'. I just sent corrections to for the song 'Distortions' and there are still oddly pronounced words that hardly make sense. The first verse of the song was inspired, almost plagiarized from Velvet Underground's 'Candy Says'. That particular song was inspired by a famous transvestite known as Candy Darling.

General Commenthey eyehaverabies -- what's the fun of posting lyrics if they're already in the notes? trying to figure out what the fuck those rock stars say into the mic is one of the best games you can play with your ears . . . try it sometime.

General Commentsome of the lyrics for this song are incorrect. "it's eery and so scary, i don't know who to marry" "it's saved me once to often, you never know how often, i've pictured you in coffins" (i think it's the thought of losing her has saved him from becoming apathetic; you don't know what you have until you've lost it) and i think he's referring to someone as Q, not cute. the song as a whole is about how he acts in relationships. it's about a girl that he cares about and she obviously cares about him (her sister came to beat him up over something he'd done to her). it's sort of a twisted love song, but beautiful for its fidelity--love isn't as simple as a hallmark card.
