Woah, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow
To the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea, yeah
Lonely rivers sigh
"Wait for me, wait for me"
I'll be coming home, wait for me

Woah, my love, my darling
I've hungered, hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me

Ok...this song is a different meaning for me...ok not different but it makes me tear up each time i hear it. The day my boyfriend left to go to Kuwait....i talked to him for a half hour before he left then you know i cried...but when i got in the car to go to work...this song came on and it just made me cry more because of what he says "time goes by so slowly, and time can do so much are you still mine?" "lonely rivers sigh wait for me, i'll be coming home wait for me" it was almost like it was meant to be sung to me from my boyfriend. but he didnt sing it to me so...eh..but it still makes me sad when i hear it cause i miss him so damn much

    My Opinion

This song is one of the most romantic songs to slow-dance to. The beat is so slow, with each word drawn out like a beautiful lullabye. It really makes you go slow and savor dancing with someone special.

While it's a love song, I have a hard time getting through it without tearing up! The lyrics are romantic and illustrate that deep, never-ending kind of love...but there's also a sadness to it. The part about the river flowing to the sea makes me think of death....like the river eventually meets the great ocean, so do we flow forward to our eventual return to something bigger than us. It makes me think he has passed and is telling his love to wait, until we meet again.

One of the only songs that makes me so sad and happy at the same time!

My boyfriend lives across the country and we are madly in love. He came to visit me and today he gave me a small round wooden music box that plays this song. He didn’t recognize that the music box played this song until I told him. It never hit me until now how much this song really shows what it’s like to be in a long distance relationship. The ache you feel for your partner’s embrace is so strong. It doesn’t help that neither of you can just drop everything to see each other. That makes everything go by so much more slowly. You need them and you can’t live without them. Like all long term relationships you can’t help but occasionally wonder if they are still yours, distance doesn’t make those thoughts any easier. You can’t wait to hold them again and you miss them every single second of every day.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
