"Forever In Blue Jeans" as written by Richard Bennett and Neil Diamond....
Money talks
But it don't sing and dance
And it don't walk
And long as I can have you here with me
I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans
Honey's sweet
But it ain't nothin' next to baby's treat
And if you pardon me
I'd like to say
We'll do okay
Forever in blue jeans

Maybe tonight
Maybe tonight, you and I
All alone by the fire
Nothing around
But the sound of my heart
And your sighs

Money talks
But it don't sing and dance
And it don't walk
And long as I can have you here with me
I'd much rather be
Forever in blue jeans, babe

General CommentAs best I can interpret the song is simply saying that he would much prefer to have his loved one than be rich. A "money can't buy happiness/love" message.

    General CommentThe song meaning is that;

It is great to have money and it can be used to show off to everyone (that being money talks) but if to get it you have to hold down a career that would take you away from your true love then he would rather be forever in blue jeans ( Blue jeans being the symbol of a manual worker) without alot of money but living a simpler life with his love, going out singing and dancing because he would be happier without the money and getting to spend each night with the love of his life.

In short money isn't everything and blue jeans is the representation of a manual labourer.

General CommentI know of this lady who tells me she meet Neil Diamond while she was at the Holiday Inn with some friends from college in the mid 70's and she and Neil Diamond spent the evening talking about various things including blue jeans. She claims that many things in this song came from their conversation.
