Deep inside I tried to find a purpose for me no surprise.
I've pushed myself away.
Sometimes I refuse to think and sometimes I just need a break.
Leave myself a lone today.
Sit and drink the air.
And stop to let out all the hurt.
Collapse inside your arms.
I never want to let this go.
I'm not in tune with anything.
If I go on like this I'll scream 'til I go mute.
And people who can't speak don't have to answer for themselves.
I'll scream this one for you.
I know what failure is.
I understood it all along.
Salvation was a gift,
But someone wrapped it wrong....so wrong.
Life has a funny was of leading you on,
Letting you down.
Deep inside I try to find a purpose for me no surprise.
Please leave me alone.

Josh Kemble said before in an interview that this song was written to Matt Aragon because he was helping the group cope with the breaking up issues.

O'Donnell (the guitarist that left after this CD was made) actually wrote this song. He was having problems balancing the band with his own personal life. He admits to refusing to write music, and wanting to take a break sometime.

"Sometimes I refuse to think and sometimes I just need a break."

I was a singer in a band, and it was hard work. The band went far, but I felt the same exact way, I needed a break, the pressures of band life is overwhelming, so I completely understand this song.

Also check out "Juice" and "Point Counterpont" from the Matt Aragon CD, they have a lot to do with the same situation.

this song means a lot to me. i know matt aragon and i care so much for him. everything the dogwoods say about him in the cd is nothing but true. matt has an awesome personality he shares with everyone. he's helped me through so many things it's not even funny. matt cares so much about the people around him and their safety and comfort. he has a big heart and i believe i would not be here today if it weren't for him and all he has offered me...he is a blessing in my life and i am convinced he is my gardiun angel...without wings

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
