Wake up early, mad at you
Got to school but where are you?
I should have known
But now you're gone
And I'm alone
Your mother told me
Last night on the phone
Now you're gone
Now I'm alone
I would have helped you
I would have done anything
I would have taken you with me
Or bought you a ring, but
Now you're gone and, I'm alone!

General CommentI'm sure this song is a reference to the other song before it on the album, "Bikeage." In fact, Milo Goes To College is pretty much a semi-conceptual album, and I'm sure the last four songs are about the same girl.

Rather than this song be about the usual breakup story, I'm sure that Jean was the girl in "Bikeage" and her lifestyle got her in the end. It's pretty sad to look into.

General Commentmy take on it (that my friends disagree with) is that it's about this guy's girlfriend, Jean, who commits suicide. And he's talking about how he would've helped her, and asking her why she did it. Maybe it's not that bad though, thats just what i got from it.

General CommentI think that it's the last 2, not 4, but yeah, i agree with you on the other stuff.

General CommentAs far as I'm concerned, this is the punk equivalent of Sweet Child O Mine. That intro riff is unbelievable. Shame it doesn't go on for longer.

I heard that Bikeage was about a girl called Michelle, although they might have just changed the name for this song.

General Commenti don't see how they could disagree with you... the songs called "jean is dead," so there's that much. he also says "why'd you do it?" a couple of times, even though it's not in the lyrics here. so she's dead, she did it, plain and simple.

General CommentYeah, same here, I've always thought it was about a guy who's girlfriend committed suicide. It's pretty clear.
