Would you let me take control
if i told you that i would never love another?
Build a prison for your soul,
with the shelter i provide,
surely we can live forever.

Feel addiction take control, i know you'll runaway.
Reality is just fantasy again.
If i could penetrate your soul,
i'd help you find a way to make fantasy, reality again.

Would you let me take you home?
Fulfill my every need,
keep you in this spell you're under.
Cause now's the time to let you know,
If you only take my hand, never will there be another.

Hold you down again, i won't let you breathe.
I see redemption in your eyes
although i always seem to make you cry
So high off the pain that i give to you,
hold you down till you can't breathe.
You can't leave or perceive that you're better off without me.
I'll cut you down before you get a chance to doubt me.
No love is sicker than the one we found,
keep a frown on your face and you'll never replace me.

Feel addiction take control, i know you'll runaway.
Reality is just fantasy again.
If i could penetrate your soul,
i'd help you find a way to make fantasy, reality again.

I think this song is about a personal relatoinship. Love is an addiction and when you find someone you love so much it can be very tough to do without them. I think it is about a relationship that has gone on so long that neither person knows what it is like to be without the other. I also think that the relationship has some big problems but they just can't do without each other so it is kinda a sick love. However messed up the relationship is the line "I see redemption in your eyes" means that when he looks into the girls eyes he can see why they are still together.

I don't know. Thats what it means to me, but that is how I relate to the song. The important thing is to interpret it your own way and just listen to the song and realize that it means something.
Godfearingone nice effort and it is cool that you but a whole lot of thought into and you are religious and all that stuff but check out the 3rd strike website and there is a couple quotes that talk about this song. It has nothing to do with god. Sorry bud but all things in life don't relate to god. Don't take this personal because I am a church goer myself, but Jesus may love you, but too much of him may blind you too.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
