Looking ahead, not far away, someday soon but not today things may get better
Things may get worse depending on who gets there first
Nothing in common, nothing will change
Together we'll go our separate ways
Nothing to stop us from cavin' in
Someone's gotta lose when someone wins
Look at the world you're livin' in
Someday you'll have to pick a side
For the rest of your life who's on your side?
A voice in the dark, a light in the haze
A flame that burns then fades away
Alone in the night a ship lost at sea
A state of emergency with no way of knowing what's comin' next
Survival of who fits in best, looking for answers but where to begin
We all wanna know how this one ends, look at the world you're livin' in
Someday you'll have to pick a side
For the rest of your life who's on your side?
(Look at the world you're livin' in)
Who's on your side?
(Do you know who you wrap again?)
Who's on your side?
(And your tears are justified)
Who's on your side?

This isn't make believe
A faded picture show
As we drown you're slowly lettin' go, look at the world you're livin' in
Someday you'll have to pick a side
For the rest of your life who's on your side?
(Look at the world you're livin' in)
Who's on your side?
(Do you know who you wrap again?)
Who's on your side?
(And your tears are justified)
Who's on your side, who's on your side?

I like the music to this song, and to an extent the lyrics, but doesn't anyone think tha the lyrics are slightly forced? They don't flow nearly as well as lyrics crafted by Bad Religion etc. or even in some of their other songs. All a bit teen writey.

But yeah, i love Pennywise anyway!!!

wow fuck you crazypunkgirlXOxoXOxoGAY, thx for being concerned about the flow of the lyrics. actually the song flows fine and has real punk style to it. if you're worried about how a song flows and all that crap then analyze pop mainstream music, not punk you fucking poser.

anyway, i think this is song is about being aware of ppl around you and how trustworthy your friends or enemies are. it also comments on how willing ppl are to use and climb over others to succeed, possibly at other people's expenses. also sarcastically points out the problems with conformity and people's tendencies to give in to conformity to feel better about themselves.

The song seems to be about conformity ("survival of who fits in best"), the government ("Depending on who gets there first") and overall society through metaphors, and how you need to know who's on your side. It's like Pennywise is predicting the soon to be 2nd civil war of America, between the government and the people

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
