"Jennifer Lost The War" as written by and Bryan Holland....
Jennifer lost the war today
You'll find her burned and raped
Through it all
She must have wondered
What have I done
But nobody really cares today
The world's a busy place
Guess she must have really sinned

I guess we're all just soldiers
She was only six years old
Left to die by strangers
Her family waits
And if we're all just soldiers
Is it so wrong to be afraid

Phoebe lost the war today
There must be some mistake
Say it happens all the time
And it's said and done
And Little Miss 1565 Your soul remains unclaimed
Guess you must have really sinned

Morality won't help her
When she lies silent in a morgue
And all our sorrows just don't count at all
But will the morning headlines
Even say that it's a shame
What are we headin' for

Seen it all before
Silent on the ground
As he's walking away
And I wonder how many more
Everybody takes it
Like it's nothing at all
Jennifer lost the war

General CommentI can't believe nobody has said anything about this song, it's a CLASSIC Offspring song, and the first I heard.

General Commentthis is a really sad song...it makes me very sad whenever i hear it...its just about a little girl being abducted, raped, and killed by strangers, and how the world doesnt really find that a big deal because its too busy with its own problems...very sad and true

General Commentyeah this is a great song. i listen to it every now and then just to keep myself in check and not get too rapped up in anything. i used to play it on my cd player whenever someone else on my bush became a drug addict but i played it so much...

General Commenti don't know guys, i think dexter had an idea or a catchy line and had no clue what to write about and one day picked up a paper and there it was: "jennifer lost the war" and an article. i could be shooting bullshit, but i think i read that somewhere, i don't know. :(

General CommentI think zps2 is right, because there is also a song by Hole (Courtney Love's band) called "Pieces of Jennifer's body" about an extremely similar incident with a victim of the same name.

General Comment"And Little Miss 1565 Your soul remains unclaimed"

Little Miss 1565 was the name the media gave to an unidentified little girl who died in a circus fire in 1944. A few years after this song came out she was finally claimed by her brother. Her real name was Eleanor Cook.
