"Winter Month Novelty" as written by and Omar/bixler Rodriguez....
Bite the hand that feeds
Biting off more than you can
Are you sure you got the right hand skilled
And all because this left hand spit
Have you been crying
Over your spilled milk?

Swallow your refills
The drink of drinks
We drank ourselves to sleep
On the mistletoe concrete
We blank this page with ink
Two for flinching
When the paper cuts sink
We drank ourselves to sleep
Cause the paper cuts hurt
(Sure enough as)
I burned myself in the cigarette crossfire
Sure enough as
My ears kissed the floor
Just to hear a mouthful
Sure enough as

You scratch the itch
On the tome of your dial
Have you been crying over your...

More than you can choose
More than you can chew

General Commenti am not sure what this song means exactly, but the lines "we drank ourselves to sleep on the mistletoe concrete," are sweet! I am pretty sure this song is about the effects of and the reasons people drink. The crying over spilled milk is people drinking about their small problems and making them worse. The mistloe concrete is you kissing the ground after too many! The paper cuts are more small problems. Ears kissing the ground is self evident. Good song!

General Commenti like your interperetation of the song... and i think youve got it perfectly... but have something to add, maybe it also has something to peer pressure leading to the use of alcohol or drugs... the line "bite the hand that feeds" refers to turning down the offer... "more than you can choose" may refer to feeling like you dont have a choice... "and "burnned myself in the cigerette crossfire" could mean he gave into the pressure and is now hooked on smoking and drinking... just my opinion...

General Commenti agree with the assumption that this song is about drinking. mostly, drinking for release "cause the paper cuts hurt". Drinking ourselves to sleep is, in my mind, drinking into obscurity. I also think that the song may touch upon the basic hardships of life"have you been crying over your spilled milk?" and how people are helpless to escape from the many small burdens of every day existance, except through alcohol. "swallow your refills" may symbolize people thinking that alcohol will solve the problems they are drinking away. these shots of release are "refills" because alcohol is, in turn, just another problem.

But all that aside... this is possibly my favorite song. such power and emotion go in to the performance, its unimaginable to think that this masterpiece could ever be topped. (except, maybe, Vermicide by TMV.)

General CommentVerse 1 - I think it is about disobeying your creator...ie parents or god....maybe going against waht they said or want from you.....I think its about wanting to be a musican or poet...family disowns him and he is second guessing that it was the right choice in life.
the swallow your refines and so on part- Umm not sure if this a metaphor for taking what comes after chosing the unpaved road and the struggles to make it as a musicain or he is just a homeless alchololic....maybe alittle of both.
"burn myself in cig. fire"- this means he was having an aurement or consveration and it back fired....possibly wishing he didnt disown his creator and go his own way...him looking back.
"ear kissed the ground to hear a mouthful"....he is failing at life and everyone in his town is talking about him behind his back.

you scratch the itch on the tome of your dail.....I think this means he is following his dreams....relieving his ambitions to become a musician.....I think its about him finally realising he was born to be a musicail....tome or your dail....I think just means your plan in life.......The whole song is second guessing if he is chosing the right paths in life.
