"Torn Between Two Lovers" as written by Phillip Jarrell and Peter Yarrow....
There are times when a woman has to say what's on her mind
Even though she knows how much it's gonna hurt
Before I say another word let me tell you I love you
Let me hold you close and say these words as gently as I can

There's been another man that I've needed and I've loved
But that doesn't mean I love you less
And he knows you can't possess me and he knows he never will
There's just this empty place inside of me that only he can fill

Torn between two lovers, feeling like a fool
Loving both of you is breaking all the rules
Torn between two lovers, feeling like a fool
Loving you both is breaking all the rules

You mustn't think you've failed me just because there's someone else
You were the first real love I ever had
And all the things I ever said, I swear they still are true
For no one else can have the part of me I gave to you

I couldn't really blame you if you turned and walked away
But with everything I feel inside, I'm asking you to stay

Torn between two lovers
Feeling like a fool
Loving both of you is breaking all the rules

General CommentAn incrediby powerful song. One of those 70s one hit wonders.
This song sums up well the feeling of being in love with two people and loving them both equally, the despair and unhappiness it brings.

General CommentThe feeling of having deceived the one you wanted to spend your life with just because that other person stepped into your life, totally unexpectedly. You didn't look for them, they just appeared out of nowhere, putting your whole life into question.
Sometimes you just can't help falling in love with someone you never should have. But you want to get to know this person better, you arrange secret meetings, because they are the one you're thinking about all the time.
On the other hand you are horrified by the thought of hurting your partner whom you truly love. You don't want him to find out ever, but you decide to tell him your version of the story before someone else does. And because you can't live with this bad conscience anymore.

I would like to know what the reaction of her partner was.
