Not long ago in my high school days
I watched a girl from so far away
But every time she passed me by
I turned my head away and quietly sighed.

And when she walked by her hair would dance,
A secret tango that only I could understand \
And if she asked for the time of day
I'd look her in the eyes and quietly say:

Kristina, Kristina
Do you have any clue who I am? (hello!)
So listen up because I'll tell you once and
I'll explain myself the best that I can.
Kristina, Kristina
You don't know me so I'll have to persist.
I'm kind of shy so don't wonder why
Kristina she don't know I exist.

From class to class I followed her,
But I swore I'd leave her undisturbed
And if she ever stopped by and turned around
I got so nervous and I stared at the ground.

And then one day in photography
I found a contact print that I could not believe
And there she was staring back at me
So I took her home so quietly.

It's been a day that I've come to hate.
As I walked into the video store
There she stood as my jaw fell to the floor.
Tapping her toe, waiting in line,
With a movie and some other guy
Why did I bother? Why did I care?
About this girl named Kristina Behr?

Kristina, Kristina
You'll never get to know who I am (Your loss!).
This is goodbye so please don't cry
and I'll let you down as softly as I can.
Kristina, Kristina
Another name to cross off my list.
Another life it could have been nice but,
Kristina she won't know what she missed.

General Commentgreat song, what i like about catch 22 over othr punk ska bands is that the horn section actually solos, unlike so many others. als, the bass player solos, which is cool too.

General CommentI love horns in my music, this song has solos from alot of different instruments.... damn good ... Love the song. also think it's pretty sad. "In another life it could have been nice but Kristina she won't know what she missed."

General CommentAssuming this is actually written from Tomas' perspective, I noticed that the whole thing takes place "not long ago" when Tomas was in high school. If Keasbey Nights was released in '98, and "1/17/98" was mentioned in the song, then by deductive reasoning he wrote this song when he was just out of high school. That's damn impressive.

General CommentMcAwesome...yes the entire band was either still in high school or fresh out of high school when this album was written, recorded, and released! As a matter of fact Streetlight Manifesto has re-released this album with Tomas and a few old former Catch 22 members! Tomas said he hated the way it sounded when it was first recorded and wanted to clean it up and release it. The originals are amazing but inevitably just slightly flawed, maybe because they were young or maybe because of a small budget but either way the Catch 22 version is AMAZING for a group of young high school kids. Nonetheless the Streetlight Manifesto version is just as good if not better, with a little more SKA and a bit less PUNK! The horns are cleaner and the raging distortion parts are toned down making it a more SKA-oriented album as opposed to the original. EITHER WAY THIS ALBUM FUCKIN KILLS!!! EVERYONE WHO LOVES SKA AND PUNK SHOULD HEAR IT EITHER FROM CATCH 22 or STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO

General CommentDo you think he found pictures of Kristina naked? Or at least in some comprimising position? I think that's what's meant by him finding the "contact sheet I couldn't believe"
