Went to the corner of second and main
and there was someone there
who mentioned that they hoped that it would rain forever, forever,
so they could drown in peace.

Went down to the hodskin p.l.
but there was nobody to answer
when I rang the doorbell forever, forever
so now I'm sad all the time.

Sick and sad again. Sometimes I'd like the rain to end. Sick and sad again. Sometimes I'd like to stand on my own two feet.

Today was the day
but she threw it all away
and I could never understand 'cause she was never one to play
by the rules of the game
her and me we're so the same
I try so hard
and I never give in
and I am never satisifed until the day that I win
agaisnt them
but I don't care I'll follow her to anywhere.

General Commentin the backround he says that line from keasby nights "I can fade away to anywhere. Don't stop because you might get dropped"

amazing song, amazing band...saw them the other day for the first time with reel big fish, and rxbandits and what not...theyre amazing live...but without tomas, theyre not as good

and i think this song is about just a horrible day....and hes just frustrated with everything...and he tries so hard for this girl...but she isnt interested in one person...and hes trying to win her over or something, like he went all the way to her house, but she wasnt there

tomas is a genious...its hard to say what the lyrics are about

General CommentAbsolutely LOVE the first two verses of this song. Love them so much.

Definately not the same band since Tomas, Josh, Dan (and anyone else?) left. Not the same at all. Keasbey Night's was one incredible album...

General Commenti will have to say that this is my least favorite song on Keasby Nights. First of all its about a girl, which doesnt make it a bad song in and of itself (i mean Kristina is about a girl), but it certainly doesn't help much...and its just not as catchy as the rest of the songs on the CD. its still better than their newer stuff without tomas though.

This part, right at the beginning of the song, actually comes from the book Catch-22
Basically all of chapter 12 has to do with whether or not it will ever stop raining.

"Their only hope was that it would never stop raining, and they had no hope because they all knew it would."

"I hope it never stops raining"

"Come on--help me get them out of there before they all die of pneumonia."
"You know, that don't sound like such a bad idea," (Drown in peace)

"Suppose it stops raining and we have to fly to Bologna tomorrow. You'll be in fine physical condition.
"It won't ever gonna stop raining. No, sir, a rain like this really might go on forever."
"It has stopped raining!" someone said.

General CommentAlso, I don't think the song is about a girl. 'She', and 'her' are very arbitrary and could be a metaphor for a lot of things.

General CommentHe played this at a Toh Kay show, and said it was about girl whom he wrote a love letter to when he was 13 or 14 and she never wrote back. Great song, one of my favorites
