"I'm So Tired" as written by John Winston Lennon and Paul James Mccartney....
I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink
I'm so tired, my mind is on the blink
I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink
No, no, no

I'm so tired, I don't know what to do
I'm so tired, my mind is set on you
I wonder should I call you but I know what you would do

You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind

I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired, I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid get

You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind

I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind

I'd give you everything I've got
For a little peace of mind

General CommentJohn wrote the song when he was in India. He was apparently meditating too much and was having trouble sleeping at night. The line "My mind is set on you" is directed at Yoko Ono. Sir Walter Raleigh is the guy who introduced tobacco to England.

General CommentThe bit about Cursing Walter Raleigh is a direct reference to hom needing a cigerette. part of the reason he can't sleep is because he needs another one. He was a stupid git because he introduced smoking into England.

General Comment"Get" or "git" is a typically Northern insult - its literal meaning is "bastard", and it is a corruption of the verb "to beget". A friend of mine from "oop north" has written complete songs consisting of the prase "stupid git"!

General CommentThis is a companion piece to "I'm Only Sleeping" meant to continue the musical diary of John Lennon.

His sleep patterns have obviously changed since the earlier entry.

General CommentThis is John in India. Though he's still with his first wife, he's recently fallen in love with Yoko and missing her something awful. He's frustrated and wants to be near her. This song is a manifestation of that. A nice piece of work.

General Comment...great observation BM...this song sums up every relationship i've ever been in...you want to clear your mind with her love but as the tension grows insomnia, drugs, and depression intertwine to make this new form of living...loneliness...wdc
