"Wave Goodbye" as written by and Chris Cornell....
Words get tangled on your tongue
And you stumble on your feet
When you miss somebody
And everywhere you think you see them
Walking down the street
When you miss somebody
When you miss somebody
You tell yourself a hundred thousand times
Nobody ever lives forever
So you give it one more try
To wave goodbye, wave goodbye

Every hurtful thing you ever said
Is ringing in your ear
When you miss somebody
And everything of beauty that you see
Only brings a tear
When you miss somebody
When you miss somebody
You tell yourself everything will be alright
Try to stand up strong and brave
When all you want to do is lay down and die

How long I've waited for an answer or a sign
Lonely and weary from
The troubled task of trying
To wave goodbye

So now you start to recognize
That every single path you see
Leads to a tear in your eye
So wave goodbye, wave goodbye

General CommentRead the liner notes to Sketches for my Sweetheart the Drunk album by Buckley. Chris helped decide which tracks would be on the album. Jeff opened for Soundgarden and the band were blown away by his talent. Chris and Jeff became mutual admirers and friends. From the IMDb webpage "Friend Chris Cornell wrote the song "Wave Goodbye" about Jeff's death."

General Comment...and "How long I've waited for an answer or a sign
Lonely and weary from this troubled task of trying..." are sung in Jeff's vocal style. Buckley's death totally sucked. We lost a good one there.

General CommentThis song is a tribute to Jeff Buckley. In the book "Dream Brother: The Lives and Music of Jeff and Tim Buckley" by David Browne, there are several occurances where Chris has something to say about his friendship with Jeff, and at the end of the last chapter, it says, "Attesting to the respect with which he was regarded in the music community, Jeff became the subject of songs by Chris Cornell ("Wave Goodbye"), Hole ("Boys on the Radio"), Duncan Sheik ("A Body Goes Down", Juliana Hatfield ("Trying Not to Think About It"), and Aimee Mann ("Just Like Anyone")..."

General Commenti think..we should all..say "i love u" to the ones we do love and care for...before its too late..and they are gone..i dont know..its just a thought that comes up.everytime i hear this song..
it sucks when someone u care for and love..dies or just leaves ur life..in a physical way..i dont know..
    just..dont wait for tomorrow..to say to ur mom..family itself,gb,bf whatever..ur dog..anyone..u love..let them know..today..cuz maybe tomorrow might not come..to them or urself..

    peace

    General CommentAin't life strange
Crashing through a wall of endless pain
    With hope restrained
Working from the plans that we never made
And then we crave any glimmer of hope that comes our way
    And leave the day
Sleeping in the bed we made.

I wrote that. I have to thank Cornell for his influence.
