"Lost In A Crowd" as written by Michael Glabicki, Jim Donovan, Jenn Wertz, Liz Berlin, Jim Dispirito, John Buynak and Patrick Norman....
Invoke the light to shelter you
'Cause everybody wants a piece of you

Yesterday lost in a crowd
Yesterday lost in a crowd,
I was lost, lost, now I'm found

Yesterday, lost in a crowd
Yesterday, lost in a crowd
I was lost, lost, now I'm found

Invoke the light to shelter you
'Cause everybody wants a piece of you
It's the dyin' man, what she said
Invoke the light to shelter you
'Cause everybody wants a piece of you
It's the dyin' man, what she said

Yesterday I was lost and you kicked me some food
Boy it was nice to be here with you

General CommentMy sister always said this song made her think of me...and when she would come home from college she would sing it to me....makes me sad to think back on it....her and me have always been close and ive always gone to her when anything was wrong. Kinda as if when I was lost in a crowd she would find me again...not literally though.

My InterpretationThe feeling i get from the lines "Yesterday i was lost- and you kicked me some food,- boy it was nice being here with you."... reminds me of being in a position of home & comfort, & reaching out to a visitor, or tourist, wandering around. Its making someone feel welcome. The welcome is represented as food, but could be anything that is helpful. The outcome is getting to know someone from another place or background. Reaching out & making contact with another human being is how we make our world a warmer place to live.

General CommentMan I just heard this today like I have never heard it before. would dare say that Rusted Root is referring to Jesus' story!

"Invoke the light to shelter you
'Cause everybody wants a piece of you
It's the dyin' man, what she said"
---His interaction with the people and the masses...Everybody wanted to have a miracle happen in their lives and would flock to him.---and His crucifixion..."dying man"

"Yesterday I was lost and you kicked me some food
Boy it was nice to be here with you"
---Again- Jesus' interaction with the masses....feeding 1000's from a little fish and a little bread (and ultimately Himself)----

I was lost and now I'm found.... Strange they chose this when it is so clearly a statement of faith... Amazing Grace, etc.

IDk.... It's all in the eye of the beholder, right, but geez! I sure heard it differently yesterday than any other of the million times I have listened to this song. been listening to it for years, and never once did it occur to me this fits the story PERFECTLY until now.
