"Pregnant For The Last Time" as written by Steven Morrissey and Mark Edward Cascian Nevin....
Phlegm lapels for the last time
Corn beef legs for the last time
Oh, we're so glad
That you've finally decided

But then you see someone new
And you want someone new
So you have someone new
I don't blame you
We would all do the same as you
If ever we had the nerve to

Chips with cream for the last time
The people's friend for the last time
Oh, we're so glad
That you've finally decided

Tiny striped socks for the last time
Pokes and prods for the last time
And the doctor said
"don't nod your head until june !"

But then you see someone new
And you want someone new
So you have someone new
I don't blame you
We would all do the same as you
If ever we had the chance to

Sick at noon for the last time
And who is going to clean up ?
Would you be so kind ?
Oh, everybody's staring
At the strange clothes that you're wearing

Bad advice for the last time
And people being nice for the very first time
Oh, we're so glad
That you have finally decided !

General CommentI think this song is saying obviously that someone is pregnant for the last time and that they are going through the the coinsequences for the last time. Maybe Morrissey is mocking them because they are pregnant. Great song.

General CommentWho is Colin Meloy? I'm going to have to listen to him.

I love this song, especially having gone through two pregnancies in the last two years with my girlfriend - now definitely for the last time!

It really has relevance to anyone who's ever been close to a pregnant person, or someone with young kids. "Sick at noon for the last time" "Tiny striped socks for the last time"

But I think it's kind of a critique on people who just keep getting pregnant with lots of different partners, revealed in lines like "We're so glad you've finally decided" - to stop having kids - "But then you see someone new and you want someone new" and so it all happens again, with another pregnancy. And the comedy of the doctor saying don't nod your head until June (i.e. no more sex!)

    I like Morrissey's sympathy for this multi-mother - "I don't blame you
We would all do the same as you
If ever we had the nerve to "

Great riff, such great musicians and songwriters he always finds.
