"Hat And Feet" as written by Adam L. Schlesinger and Chris Collingwood....
I'm just a hat and feet,
That's all that's left of me,
A spot on the sidewalk, a mark on the street,
I'm just a hat, and feet,

I'm just a hat, and feet,
You dropped a bomb on me!
I didn't, even see!
Like a falling piano,

From out of a window!
Now I'm just a hat,
And feet, I'm just a hat and feet,
I'm just a sitting duck,

That ran out of luck,
I'm the unhappy guy,
That didn't look up high,
I started running,

When I saw it coming, but
It got faster and louder til,
I took a power, now
I'm just a hat and feet,

That's what's become of me,
Flat on the sidewalk, stuck to the street,
Now I'm just a hat and feet,
I'm just a hat, and feet...

I'm just a sitting duck,
That ran out of luck,
I'm the unhappy guy,
That didn't look up high,

I started running,
When I saw it coming,
It got faster and louder til,
I took a power, now

I'm just a hat and feet,
That's all that's left of me,
A spot on the sidewalk, a mark on the street,
I'm just a hat, and feet,

I'm just a hat, and...

General CommentI might be miles off, but I reckon this guy has been dumped. He never saw it coming, totally out of the blue, taking him by surprise. Now he's got nothing going for him anymore. That hollow feeling is represented by having nothing between your shoes and headwear.

General CommentI think you're right on the mark, arian. Couldn't have said it better.

This song has such a cool, simple groove to it. It's supposed to be one of their lesser songs, but I always crank it up.

General CommentOops, sorry, arjan. The "j" looked like an "i" to me when underlined.

General CommentThis is cartoon imagery. You know when you see a piano fall on a cartoon character and smash him, and then he squeezes out from under it, but he's all squished so that all you see is a hat scurrying around with a couple of feet sticking out of it? Well getting dumped by his girlfriend was like having a piano fall on him. And now he's just a hat and feet. Very clever concept.
