"Unforgivable Sinner" as written by and Lene Marlin Pedersen....
Kinda lose your sense of time
'Cause the days don't matter no more
All the feelings that you hide
Gonna tear you up inside
You hope she knows you tried

Follows you around all day
And you wake up soaking wet
'Cause between this world and eternity
There is a face you hope to see

You know where you've sent her
You sure know where you are
You're trying to ease off
But you know you won't get far
And now she's up there
Sings like an angel
But you can't hear those words
And now she's up there
Sings like an angel
Unforgivable sinner

You've been walking around in tears
No answers are there to get
You won't ever be the same
Someone cries and you're to blame

Struggling with a fight inside
Sorrow you'll defeat
The picture you see it won't disappear
Not unpleasant dreams or her voice you hear

You know where you've sent her
You sure know where you are
You're trying to ease off
But you know you won't get far
And now she's up there
Sings like an angel
But you can't hear those words
And now she's up there
Sings like an angel
Unforgivable sinner

Maybe one time lost
But now you're found
Stand right up before
You hit the ground
Maybe one time lost
But now you're found
Stand right up before
You hit the ground, hit the ground

You know where you've sent her
You sure know where you are
You're trying to ease off
But you know you won't get far
And now she's up there
Sings like an angel
But you can't hear those words
And now she's up there
Sings like an angel
Unforgivable sinner

This is such a sad but incredibly powerful song. It's about a guy who's responsible for his girlfriends death "You know where you've sent her" and yet no matter what he tries he cannot get over the guilt and the loss of the girl. Even when he finds someone new, the memories are not forgotten.

    But now you're found
    Stand right up before
    You hit the ground"

General CommentI personally think this song means that a boyfriend had hurt his girlfriend so bad that she took her own life, and it's always eating at him because he feels it's his fault. Just what came to mind when I looked at the lyrics, ;]

General CommentI love this song.. I always thought it's about a guy that does something terrible to a girl, maybe rapes her, or just murders her, or anything, and that makes him an Unforgivable Sinner..I remeber I read an interwiev with her once and she said that "no one can ever find out what 'unforgivable sinner' is about", which makes me beleive it was someone really close to her, like a sister or mayeb a best friend, who died.. But all this is only guesses..

General Commentabout regret, depression, loss...is about a guy who had a girl and maybe lost her coz she died, and he is always hoping to see her face, and he knows he did wrong and he should have been "better" while she was here, and somehow he got depressed coz he knew he could have been much better, but now there's only Him left to blame, there's only regret left with him...
But at same time i agree with kevlar_soul, i think that maybe this is lene talking to herself about someone really closed... :D :) :'(

General CommentYeah, I agree with all of these things.
I've always thought it was about murder, and the guilt that eats this person up each day.

General CommentConsidering the video is about a group of children and one single boy and one single girl, and then later the grownup man, I have always thought that the kids kill the girl, while the the boy does nothing to stop it even though he knew what was going on.
And then he has to regret it for the rest of his life.

General CommentI like this song alot, it makes Lene more mature than lots of pop singer out there and I also agree with you all, its about trying to forget a horrible thing you have done to somebody.

"And You Wake Up Soaking Wet" does it mean wake up crying???

General CommentI was driving down the dual carriageway the other day and it hit me how this song affects me. It made me quite emotional in an inside kind of way.
My mum died when I was eight, this reminds me of her a bit.
Really lovely song. Shows Lene has so much more brains than many artists around.
