Am I not pretty enough
Is my heart too broken
Do I cry too much
Am I too outspoken

Don't I make you laugh
Should I try it harder
Why do you see right through me

I live, I breathe, I let it rain on me
I sleep, I wake, I try hard not to break
I crave, I love, I've waited long enough
I try as hard as I can
I laugh, I feel, I make believe it's real
I fall, I freeze, I pray down on my knees
I hope, I stand, I take it like a man
I try as hard as I can

I know why kasey wrote this song and the meaning towards it about the radio stations etc and all the other stupid evil teeny boppers. But I also think that most ppl out there can relate to it because its just talking about you know ppl not feeling wanted etc or not being popular because they might not be pretty enough or not the "in" thing etc etc. I hope you get what I mean.

I just began listening to Kasey. When I first heard this song, I felt like someone finally understood how I can feel sometimes. It may not mean exactly how I feel but if you look at it from different views, you can take it in in many different ways. She sings the music lovely and it sounds great. I'm surprised she isn't all over my radio station, YET...

Hmm that's really interesting, I do agree with taking it in your own perspective though, that's what music is: interpretation. When I heard this song I could relate it to a guy that I like who doesn't like me: am I not pretty enough? Is my heart to broken. Don't I make you laugh? Should I try it harder. Why do you see right through me? I love this song

I know the true meaning behind this song, and believe it or not, it's not a song about teeny boppers on the radio. This song was inspired by the true feelings of someone I know very well. Everyone can relate to it because it's from the heart of someone just like you or me. It's a beautiful song.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
