Go to sleep,
Close your paper lashes tightly
Go to sleep, dusty dolls

Go to sleep,
My dusty dolls
Close your paper lashes tightly
Go to sleep, my dusty dolls

I'm a teenager now
I've got to put you down
'Cuz I'm a teenager, lipstick sweet
It's my turn now to send you off to sleep

Attic dreams, dusty dolls
Cover bedroom boxes lightly
Attic dreams, my dusty dolls

I'm a teenager now
I've got to put you down
'Cuz I'm a teenager, lipstick sweet
It's my turn now to send you off to sleep

Go to sleep, dusty dolls
Close your paper lashes tightly
Attic dreams, dusty dolls

General Commentagreed that it's about a girl growing up, but when you think about it, the dusty dolls could symbolize a lot of things. immaturity, innocence, virginity, naiveté - all those precious things that little girls lose when they grow up. one of my favorite songs by paz.
