Turn around and smell what you don't see
Close your eyes it is so clear
Here's the mirror, behind there is a screen
On both ways you can get in

Don't think twice before you listen to your heart
Follow the trace for a new start

What you need and everything you'll feel
Is just a question of the deal
In the eye of storm you'll see a lonely dove
The experience of survival is the key
To the gravity of love

The path of excess leads to
The tower of Wisdom
The path of excess leads to
The tower of Wisdom

Try to think about it
That's the chance to live your life and discover
What it is, what's the gravity of love

Look around just people, can you hear their voice
Find the one who'll guide you to the limits of your choice

But if you're in the eye of storm
Just think of the lonely dove
The experience of survival is the key
To the gravity of love.

    My Interpretation

"Oh fortuna, velut luna" = Oh fortune, like the moon.

The moon cycles from being bright and full to being invisible in the night sky. Many people think of their lives in the same way: that some days they have good fortune and other days are just bad luck. Life has its ups and downs. But on a deeper level, realize that the moon is always there, even if you can't see it (a 'new moon'). This transitions into the first verse...

"Turn around, and smell what you don't see. Close your eyes, it's so clear / Here's the mirror, behind there is a screen. From both ways, you can get in"

What's important in life may not always stand out, but it's always with you on a deeper level if you learn to observe it. I think the "mirror" is about self-reflection, discovering yourself/the gravity of love within you/God/your deeper spiritual connection (whatever you want to call it). You can get there either by looking inside yourself (mirror), or seeing yourself from the outside, the way others see you (a screen behind the mirror) by your actions and impact.

"Don't think twice before you listen to your heart / Follow the trace for a new start"

When you find within yourself, trust and love, pay attention to the world around you and your situations. You will 'know' what to do in your heart. Follow your heart to create a change in your life for the better, instead of doing the same old auto-pilot stuff you've been doing.

"What you need, and everything you feel / Is just a question of the deal / In the eye of storm you will see a lonely dove / The experience of survival is the key to the gravity of love"

Once you get to that point, you will be able to be at peace with reality. Accept your situation and the world around you for what it is. Now you are on a new journey, led consciously by your inner gravity of love. Continue on this adventure, no matter where it takes you.

The dove in the eye of a storm is a great example of someone going through a really rough time. The world around you may seem chaotic and shattered, but keep in mind that what's deep inside of you is forever, and hold on to that to keep you strong. The end of the song refers back to this. If you feel that you are alone going through Hell, try not to be discouraged, but remember the dove in the eye of the storm. The weather (your life situation) will always change eventually, but the gravity of love is immortal. Even death cannot destroy it.

"The path of excess leads to the tower of wisdom"

The unimportant, boring life is one spent just fitting in and trudging along wherever the current of your life may take you. Instead, do your best, go all the way. Look for opportunities and act to take advantage of them. Only then can you reach something greater. Alternatively, if you go "too far" then you learn from your mistakes.

"Look around just people, can you hear their voice / Find the one that will lead you to the limit of your choice"

Similar to above, this is encouraging you to push yourself to your limit (you will find that there is no limit). There will be so many people you will come across who lead by example or even will try to tell you what to do. Find a hero/friend/lover who can inspire you on your journey.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
