Green button like a lantern
Illuminates this cavern
And outside nothing matters anymore
My instinct won't deceive me
My senses will not leave me
When there's no one left to grieve me
I won't mourn

Good night, don't fear
I always will watch over you my dear
Good night, sleep well
I'll see you with the rest of them in hell

My hand won't shake the console
My handcuff will not rattle
As I win the final battle of all wars
And down beneath the ocean
I'll dream of wings in motion
A blinding glory
That'll show 'em what freedom's for

(Chorus)

And so, for now, farewell

General CommentThis song is so beautiful. The way I interpret it is that he has been arrested (or what not), but he won't fight it because he believes he still has his freedom, his ability to dream. And the chorus is telling his "dear" not to be afraid because he will always watch over her. I don't understand the first verse though... go figure

General CommentThis song is actually about a man sitting in a nuclear silo having just recieved the order to push the button. He knows what he has to do and is ready to sacrifice everything for it.

General CommentThis song reminds me of a story called "The Game" by Donald Barthelme. I've always wondered if Glen had read it at some time or another and been inspired by it.

    Story's here: latexnet.org/~burnt/…

I'm a bit at a loss as to what this man is about to do. It seems like he's about to ignore the order outright. Maybe someone here can tell me if that's true.

General CommentI interpret this as a man who is about to die out in battle. The handcuffs represent how he is chained to this military life he has led and there is no going back. He thinks about his loved one and says he will watch over her after he dies.
