"Never Bought It" as written by and Joseph Donald Mascis Jr.....
So, I figured something out
Should I tell you what about?
Let's just say I've done my time
Any show
Be a a tantrum that gets paid
Another tale slips your mind
So why
Are You
Me
Now

I've been reaching every day
And now suddenly I see it
Not just me swinging away
Takes a lot just to relieve me
So why
Are You
Me
Now

It's not convenient any time
Just rip it from my mind
Cause you can give me something fine
You can follow up it's gone
(You) Can't get upset about this song
You can't give me something fine
Give Me
Give Me all
Live it all
Can't stand it anymore

I've been reaching every day
And now suddenly I see it
It's not just me that throws it away
Never really bought my deal
Every wonder is a reel
Yours ain't the only way to feel
So why
You
Me
Now

General CommentI'm pretty sure they should be this:

    So, I figured something out;
Should I tell you what about?
Let's just say I've done my time.

    And it's shorter everyday,
    The attention that get's paid.
Let no detail slip your mind

    So why you me now?

    I believed you every day,
And, now, suddenly I see it.
Not just me threw it away.
Take a lot just to relieve it.

    So why you me now?

    It's not convienent any time;
To just rip it from my mind
Cause you don't a'give me something fine.
But you can't follow up, it's gone
Can't get upset about the song,
If you don't'a give me something fine.

    Give Me
    Give Me, give me, ohhh.
    Live it,
    Can't stand it anymore

    I believed you every day,
And, now, suddenly I see it.
Not just me threw it away.

    Never really bought my deal
    Every wonder is a reel
Yours ain't the only way to feel

    So why you me now?

General CommentApart from it's probably "But no detail slips your mind." and
    at the end it's:
    "Never really bought my deal,
And made me wonder is it real?
Yours ain't the only way to feel.
    "

General CommentIt's my favourite song on "Hand It Over", with My Bloody Valentines Belinda Butcher (and maybe Kevin Shields) supplying backing vocals on the chorus.

It's about splitting up with someone. He's realised he's not the only one to blame and that there's faults on both sides but he's laying his side down.

He's worked out that he's had enough (done his time) and that although she pays no attention to his general life she pays attention to the little details that annoy her.

The prechorus of "So why, you, me now?" is just questioning the whole lot, why are they together.

The chorus itself is pointing the finger back - he always taken the blame and believed that he was to blame for everything, but he's now realised he's not.

And the whole crux is why should he stick around cause she doesn't give him anything "fine". He's getting nothing - so why should he give anything?

And the title bit is saying that he's never really been that happy with everything, so is it real what he's been feeling?

General CommentI thought "you never really bought my deal" is like, you never accepted what I'm about
