"Unreal" as written by Shaun D. Glass, Timothy William King, Ryan S. Mccombs, Thomas M. Schofield and Adam Victor Zadel....
Sit back bare your cross to me
Oh won't I listen
God damn have I burned my hands
On what's been missing
I feel unreal every time I try and stop to feel
Pick me up my friend
Let me start again

You fucked with me
Behind this garden
Don't fuck with me

Long before I could even see
You're what was missing
Twisting deep inside of me
Forever missing the glistening
I feel unreal
Every time I try and stop to feel
Pick me up my friend
Hold closed your hand

Can you see all the clear skin in front of me
Can you see can you see what you want to see
Can you see there's a little spot of light in me
Can you see can you tell I'm fucked

Bleeding emotions
Bleed emotions

Sat back gave your soul to me
But did I listen
God damn did I burn my hands
On what was missing, the glistening
I feel unreal
Every time I try and stop to feel
Pick me up my friend
Hold closed my hand

You fucked with me
Behind this garden
You fucked with me
Within this garden
Don't you fuck with me

General CommentThis is a great song. At first I got a very angry impression from it, but less so as I listen to it more.

Might have to do with not being able to feel love when it's there. Maybe he took advantage of someone and realises that he is wrong, wants forgiveness, but he also knows what he is capable of so he cant let them trust him again.

General CommentI personally think this song is about people losing faith because they dont get "answers" from god
"Sat back gave your soul to me = prayer"
    "But did I listen
God damn did I burn my hands = no response from god"
"On what was missing, the glistening = people realizing it"
"I feel,.. Unreal = no longer getting worshipped"

i dunno maybe i'm thinking too deep but makes good sense to me

General CommentI agree with ace..Long before I could even see
You’re what was missing Twisting deep inside of me
Forever missing the glistening I feel,.. Unreal. I think he is talking about loseing his faith in God, and despite the pain it brings he can never have his faith again

General Commenti think it is about someone playing with his emotions and then rejecting him personally. I dont beleive it has a christian or an holy point of view. Also Soil isnt religious. But yes he has been rejected and is angry and later in the song is accepted by the girl but this time he is too ignorant to notice. I could be wrong but the lyrics seem to lead towards some kind of a messed relationship and everything going wrong

General CommentWell, I may be wrong, but I think it's about a very complicated relationship and each verse is a different stage in the relationship.
In the first verse "Sit back, bare your cross to me, oh won't I listen." He's with this girl who's a strong christian and is trying to push him into christianity and he knows she's right, but he's stubborn, so he rejects her and she leaves and he's full of regret "let me start again."
Then, in the second verse, it seems that he missed her so much, he decided to do what she had asked and go to christianity "long before I could even see, you're what was missing, twisting deep inside of me..." But she rejects him because she's talking with some other guy "hold closed your hand..." Then in the chorus he's crying out "you fucked with me, behind this garden" talking about how all this time she had been trying to get him and now he's trying to change his life for her and she's rejecting him. In the breakdown, he's begging her to look at him to see the change in his life "can you see, can you see what you wanna see? Can you see there's a little spot of light in me (God in him)?" and the last part, "Can you see, can you tell I'm fucked!" is when he gives up, he feels as if he's wasted everything and all of his efforts have been in vain.
And I believe that the "bleed emotions, bleeding emotions" is the girl is heartbroken about what he did for her and the changes he made, and maybe she got burnt by christianity or the other guy and returns to him and says she'll give up christianity for him "sat back gave your soul to me" she took it away from God and gave it to him. "God damn did I burn my hands" and "hold closed my hand" he rejects her now, but very regretfully, he's just so bitter about all that has happened and so heartbroken that he turns her away, but then cries out to himself about it at the end and tries to tell himself why he had to do it, or maybe he's telling her "you fucked with me, behind this garden."
Anyways, that's just my interpretation. Any comments are welcome.
