Maybe your view of quality is more than you can be
You bear your ideology so stoically
That all that you can see, is inferiority
Here I am, my head in a cloud
Can’t you see my feet dangling, down there on the ground?
I guess I’m fool, cause I thought I could recognize
The people who cared for me,
I thought I could draw the line
That surrounded my friends

Oh I, I’m not going to give up

And I don't mind the quitters, so much as the thieves
It’s tolerable company, given the means
I won't waste my time crying
If I’m the last to understand
The difference between us, be it preference or circumstance
I’m losing the faith that youth hold in longevity
I guess that’s the price for bartering naivety
Preferring the comfort that the skeptic takes in disbelief

I’m not going to give up

General Comment"Head in a Cloud" This title discribes the song perfectly. The song shows a sence of not being able to see clearly (like being in a cloud). And becaouse of this he is stuggling with his faith, and beginning to feel the tug of the skeptics stance. But in the end he states that he will not give up the fight so easily.

General Commentthese lyrics are pretty personal. i don't remember much of the story, but i think it's a lot about andy sneider (old bandmember), who was on bad terms with the band at this time. and also, about a lagwagon show they went too, where they were pretty damned disheartened by the killer performance, and thought they would never, ever be as good as joey cape and co. but they wouldn't give up.
