cars and planes are crashing
and someone is cashing in
tonight one more look like that
could set this mission in motion
cause i'm tired of living alone
and i'm hoping that it shows
all over it's all over and so it goes.

all the usual hearts to you
in everything that you do
you make me know i've got a lot to live for
and somehow i've made it through
all the usual hearts to you
in everything that you do
i wish i had more to leave you.

and if it feels too early to rise
lay back down and close your eyes
the war will wait for you.

it's such a beautiful day to be sad
it's better to stay in bed
with the cold old covers
crawling up and over and into that part of my
head into the kitchen
for the first and last dive of the day
what a way it's any way it's amy wait.

for all the usual hearts to you
in everything that you do
i know you've got a lot to live for
and all your dreams will come true
and all your nightmares too
in everything that you do
i wish i had more to leave you.

and if you're ready for some restless sleep
we can plan to meet
maybe some mundane monday.

stay six kid
and if seven comes on too strong
and when eight just drags along
you can always cry to nine.

General Commentwow.. this is such a sad song.. its one of the most powerful songs about suicide.. i haven't figured out if its suicide of a mental, physical, or of the relationship..

General Commentmisfitgirl i don't think this song has to do with suicide, to me it sounds as though he is telling someone younger that he's leaving and telling them that they should live their life. but i dunno it's just my opinion

General CommentChris Broach wrote this song about his six year old son. He felt he couldn't give his son everything he wanted to give him. "I wish I had more to leave you". The last few lines explain it all though, that Chris will be there for his son throughout the years and offer him advice. The verse where he talks about being said still confuses me though. I think his wifes name is Amy, and maybe they got divorced. I don't really know, but I do know this is about his son.

General CommentI definately have to disagree with the suicide point of view. Whatever this song is about, its encouraging with the line "you make me know i've got a lot to live for". Just my two cents.

General Commentto me this song is about the end of a relationship, when you're trying to hold on to anything you can, and at the same time, being realistic about what's about to happen... the idea of "staying six" is just reflecting back to innocense and the simplicity of life, without the pain associated with break-ups

General CommentI highly doubt the fact that Chris Broach wrote this song (seeing as how he's not even in Hey Mercedes).
