"Be Like That" as written by Bradley Kirk Arnold and Christopher Lee Henderson....
He spends his nights in California
Watching the stars on the big screen
And then he lies awake and he wonders
Why can't that be me?

'Cause in his life he is filled
With all these good intentions
He's left a lot of things
He'd rather not mention right now

Just before he says goodnight
He looks up with a little smile at me
And he says

If I could be like that
Well I would give anything
Just to live one day in
In those shoes

If I could be like that
What would I do?
What would I do?

Now in dreams we run

She spends her days up in the north park
Watching the people as they pass
And all she wants is just a little piece of this dreams
Is that too much to ask?

With a safe home and a warm bed
On a quiet little street
All she wants is just that something to hold on to
That's all she needs

Yeah, if I could be like that
Well I would give anything
Just to live one day in
In those shoes

If I could be like that
What would I do?
What would I do? Yeah yeah yeh oh oh

I'm falling into this
In dreams we run away

If I could be like that
Well I would give anything
Just to live one day
In those shoes

If I could be like that
What would I do?
What would I do?

If I could be like that
I would give anything
Just to live one day
In those shoes

If I could be like that
What would I do?
What would I do?

If I could be like that
I would give anything
Just to live one day
In those shoes

If I could be like that?
What would I do?
Lord what would I do? Yeah yeah

Falling in
I feel I am falling in
To this again

General CommentGawd, this is the saddest song. I heard it via Youtube for the first time. It's about wanting to belong. The song mentions being on the big screen, but it seems as though there is so much more to it than wanting to be famous; he wants to be acknowledged. And that's a primal need. Incredibly good, but incredibly sad. So moving...

General Commentthis song has different meanings. The first verse is about self fufillment. He feels he has tried everything to do what he wants but still hasnt gotten there. he wanted whatever so much he even did things he now regrets to get there. The second verse is about a girl who does not have what she needs. things other people take for granted. a safe house a warm bed, something to hold onto. she lives in the park i suppose. maybe shes had these things but it was only temporary, it was never really hers. she needs a family

General Commentmy two cents...the first guy, he is the average guy, he moves to cali to try and be famous and what not. simple enough. the girl, she is poor, most likely living on the street. fair enough. but i think some people are missing how they are connected. i believe this song is trying to let us see how we always want more, like the first guy. nothing seems to be enough. the sad irony is that all the girl wants is what the guy already has, a place to live, family, security etc. the girl would do anything to be in the guy shoes, yet the guy is unhappy. pretty realistic if you ever talked to someone in proverty.

General Comment"he looks up with a little smile at me..." emphasis on the up, it is someone lying in bed. i take this as someone with a disorder/illness that prevents them from living the life they want to live...

General CommentI think that this song is about wanting to be someone else or something more than you are. Maybe your situation isn't what you want it to be or you've done some things that you aren't proud of and you're hoping to be something more or be better than what you are right now.
