"Cloud 9" as written by Paul Stirling Taylor and James Percival Doyle....
When it's late at night, and you're all alone
And you feel like you are on your own
Stormy weather, calm has never settled there
Think your weary life's beyond repair.

If you were blind I'd give you my eyes
Just so you could see one more sunrise
And maybe in that time you could understand.

When it's late at night, and you're all alone
And you feel like you are on your own
Stormy weather, calm has never settled there
Think your weary life's beyond repair.

If you were blind I'd give you my eyes
Just so you could see one more sunrise
And maybe in that time you could understand......

There is a place where ends finally meet
Floating up on Cloud Nine baby
There is a place where lost souls always greet
Floating up on Cloud Nine baby.

There is a place where ends finally meet
Floating up on Cloud Nine baby
There is a place where lost souls always greet
Floating up on Cloud Nine baby.

If only I could be more for you
I'm more than willing to
If you would open your heart to me and let go, let go, let go....

Cloud Nine Baby, Cloud Nine Baby....

When it's late at night and your all alone and u feel like you are on, Your own......

General CommentThis is such an amazing and powerful song. One of the best songs i have ever heard. Ironically as i got to this page, this song came up on my winamp... kinda freaked me out, out of the 2200 songs i have this song comes on weird esp cause i was just about to go looking for it. but regardless a very, very, very good touching song. more importantly a amazing group, its ashame what happened, but its great they have been strong through it all and come out on top.

General CommentI'd like to thank Dave for writing this song. A very good friend of mine has been depressed for a long time and she found a lot of hope in this song. It truly shows the worth of a person when something they left behind continues to do good even after they're gone. God Bless you Dave, we'll never forget you!

General CommentOn the morning of April 26, 2000, Dave's dad Doug, shot Dave's mother, and Dave in their sleep, called 911, and then shot himself. One of the saddest stories i've ever heard.

General CommentI love Distorted Penguin...I just saw them at the Apparition on Wednesday night and they were really good. I don't usually like much ska besides Less than Jake but they are really awesome.

General CommentOne more thing to add about Dave, if you really want to hear a great tribute to him, listen to "Angel Eyes (song for Dave)" by the Buzz Poets, it made me cry the first time i heard it.

General CommentSo that's what happened to Magic Dave...that's awful....so, so sad, needless to say. Distorted Penguins are a great band. This was the first song of theirs I'd ever heard and have been a fan ever since. Although there other stuff is alot different from this one....cloud 9 will continue to be my favorite. And definately check out the buzz poets "Angel Eyes" I've never heard a more heartfelt tribute in my life. Even if you're not a big DP fan, this song will still strike some sort of chord in your heart.

General CommentI love this song. I've listened to it so many times. When I first heard Magic Dave start the song with "If you were blind I'd give you my eyes", I had a chill run down my spine. This band is very talented. I really haven't listen to their new stuff, I don't think I could get used to not hearing Magic Dave's voice, since I listen to "Magic" all the time. But, anyway, I think this is an amazing song.

General CommentDefinately my favorite song of DP. Knowing the Magic Dave story and hearing the lyrics to these songs, it really all hits you pretty hard.
