"Back of Your Head" as written by and Marshall Cat Power....
Big monster
Big monster lover
A bigger pusher over
Stands alone in most walks of life
Walks alone in most walks in life

See you looking through me
Like you've unzipped the zipper
You hold the big picture so well
Can't you see that we're going to hell

Couldn't park that fucking car
Couldn't part from you
Saw the back of your sweet mother's head
Now I know that she thinks I am dead

Burnt flavor you hold the big picture so well
Can't you see that we're going to hell

Big monster lover
A bigger pusher over
Stands alone in most walks of life
Walks alone in most walks in life

General CommentI think it is about a person that gives in to temptation easily ("big monster lover," "bigger pusher over"), and consequentially remains lonely ("stands/walks alone...") and often times in a psychedelic state of mind ("see you looking through me," "saw the back of your sweet mother's head / now I know that she think's I'm dead"). Ultimately, this person will die and realize how poor of a choice it was to give in so easily to temptation ("can't you see that we're going to hell?").

General Commenti guess i just saw it as her telling about a lover who was too afraid to face life and love on a day-to-day level.

"couldn't park that fucking car" -- how perfect is the sense of frustration in that line?

General CommentWhy no one has commented on this I don't know, it's a great song. I'm not so sure what it's about, but it's still beautiful.

    General CommentI'm probably totally wrong,

but everytime I hear this song, I think of someone who has a friend who's a bit of a daredevil - "Big monster lover."
And then maybe the friend is under the influence of drugs or alcohol - "See you looking through me like you've unzipped the zipper... can't you see we're going to hell,"
and then trying to drive while still under the influence with the other person in the passenger seat, which causes a car accident which the friend does not survive - "Couldn't park that fucking car, couldn't part from you."
At some point in time, the friend's mother finds them and seeing the severity of the injuries thinks both people are dead - "Saw the back of your sweet mother's head, now I know that she thinks I am dead."

I don't know. Maybe I came up with that interpretation because one of my good friends in high school died in a car accident because she was drunk.
Still, my favorite song from Moon Pix.

General CommentI feel rebuked when I hear this. I wish a woman would set me straight this way. Fine if Chan has to do it.
