@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
I've been sittin' here trying to find myself
I get behind myself I need to rewind myself
Looking for the payback listening for the playback
They say that every man bleeds just like me
And I feel like number one yet I'm last in line
I watch my younger son and it helps to pass the time
I take too many pills that helps to ease the pain
I made a couple of dollare bills still I feel the same
Everybody knows my name they say it way out loud
A lot of folks fuck with me it's hard to hang out in a croud
I guess that's the price you pay to be some big shot like I am
Out stretched hands and one night stands
Still I can't find love
And when the walls are tumbling down
I will always be around
Yeah
And when the walls are tumbling down I will always be around
People don't know about the things I say and do
They don't understand about the shit I've been through
It's been so long since I've been home
I've been gone, I've been gone way too long
Maybe I've forgotten all the things I miss
Oh, somehow I know there is more to life than this
I've said it too many times and I still stand firm
You get what you put in and people get what the deserve
Still I ain't seen mine, no I ain't seen mine
I've been given but just ain't gettin' I've been walkin' that thin line
So I think I'll keep a walking with my head held high
I'll keep moving on and only God knows why
Only God, only God, only God knows why
Only God knows why, why, why, why
Only God knows why
Take it to the river, hey
Take me to the river, hey
I get behind myself I need to rewind myself
Looking for the payback listening for the playback

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Plastic Bag

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
I believe this song is about the First Law of Thermodynamics and karma.
"You get what you put in, and people get what they deserve."
One of the best kid rock songs by far in my opinion. It's obvious that the song is about his rise to fame, and trying to deal with it. And also even though life gets hard sometimes, theres always things that can make life easier and make you feel better
"A stellar production" - David Lee Roth. If you've never seen Kid Rock in concert you have to, its your homework assignment. Even if you dont like him, go, its an event. He plays every instrament. Amazing. And when he plays this song ever lighter in the place is burning.
finchizzle89... lick my balls, son. Kid Rock is a bad ass, you are like, what, a sophomore in high school? Shouldn't you be listening to Avril Lavigne or something? Seriously, dude, get a driver's license, then talk to me. Jeff
I think the songs about some one whos just simply in a dark place in there life.
because of an addiciton, relationships, death. etc
And when your in that dark place you feel know one understands you. And you dont even understand your self. You dont feel like you use to (its been so long sense i've been home i've been gone i've been gone for way to long)
No body knows why things like this happen turns out ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY.
I'm not religious by any means. I think this song is about depression and how life gets you down. But somehow you find the will to carry on through any means, god or whatever. I also think this is a song about wanting to find a soul mate but somehow can't.
I just have to say that to me and my girl, this is our song...the first song that we slow-danced to and god does it make me think of the times that we have shared and the times that will come...
This is a deep song. I'm not sure I understand it, but it's deep anyway. I like it. Yes... Excellent... steeples fingers
yeah im sitting here trying to find my self! life is full of shit things but its ok cause God knows why! so i think i'll keep a walking with my head held high! Take it to the river!
