I have devils on my mind
and the hour's getting late
there's nothing more to have
I'm waiting for the day
the weeks are passing by
thinking of the days
I want to burn myself again
I want to violate you
I want to hurt me again
I'm never going to waste your time again
burn your love tonight
I'm never going to waste your time again
we can touch the stars tonight
I have devils on my mind
they refuse to set me free
my followers in crime
but you're the one I fear
hiding from your eyes
thinking of your skin
I want to burn myself again
I want to violate you
I want to hurt me again
and the hour's getting late
there's nothing more to have
I'm waiting for the day
the weeks are passing by
thinking of the days
I want to burn myself again
I want to violate you
I want to hurt me again
I'm never going to waste your time again
burn your love tonight
I'm never going to waste your time again
we can touch the stars tonight
I have devils on my mind
they refuse to set me free
my followers in crime
but you're the one I fear
hiding from your eyes
thinking of your skin
I want to burn myself again
I want to violate you
I want to hurt me again

Maybe it's about the whole male/female push/pull. The typical guy approaches his feelings for a female through his lust. The typical woman approaches her feelings through her love. So the title of the song is 'afterhours' and for whatever reason, I picture this female bartender and this gal he's *well acquainted* with. He's sitting at the bar while she's closing up. Maybe he's recalling half a dozen spats they've had where she's told him he's wasting her time and he's then hidden 'from her eyes' (at least in my opinion, that's typically how that fight tends to go down. He keeps coming back though, driven by his physical desire to 'violate' her.
So he tells himself it's not going to happen again when he damn well knows it is.
Meaning no disrespect to either sex. Yes, it's kind of a subjective view for me right now.
