[Dreams not waking creeping down inside the quiet urns
listen to the sound crashing down into it the needle is
warm in the arm hate burns illusion pain pain pain]
walk out in the street see the vacant eyes dreaming of
the dream unbroken economic repression plays a part I
wonder what I'm going through ....pain.....
wasted away island body on a darkened see to avoid
chattering taped tape taping human muttering warning
flicker lights the candle burnsinside..... a pain that
never dies crawls up the back and waits for the lies tall
climb edges edges exhausts no night climbing higher
...... crawls wicked wire cut throat explodes
singing of the the vein no desire .........great
fate...... human heart explodes attacking pointed sticks
in sores the arms wheres the warning warning shot the lights
out wheres the warning ........ needle is warm in the arm
travels to the heart human heart flags the blood ........
a halo of fire scarring made of flame the flower
flavor find its worth calls the tripping strings
supporting the game of life ......the pain...... broken
chair that horror tray of fear wheres the warning warning killing
me .......aching human heart except my patience is giving
up on me....... river of track mark volcano upon the arm
open sores allowing ants to crawl in and I
wonder if I missed the warning missed the warning casting
away varnish crack ants symbolize decay missed the
warning missed the vein reaching out crying for
where is the warning .......heart exploding human heart attack.

This song is obviously about a heart attack, either from overdose or an accident while injecting some sort of substance. My personal guess is Cocaine, but it could be heroin. A big hint is in the title 'Love in Vein', keyword being vein.

Well, most Skinny Puppy fans know that A lot of the later Skinny Puppy works were influenced by Ogre's addictions to drugs...Herion in particular I believe...could give the un-informed a better look at some of these songs

cevin, ogre and dawyne (r.i.p.) were all heroin addicts at one time or another, so i'm quite certain that's what the song's about

None of you quite get it. In this song Ogre is talking about battling with the mental anguish of heroin addiction. And talking about how mentally draining the idea of having to quit is, and looking back and feeling trapped between addiction and suffering. "Where's the warning?" he asks... as if saying who had any idea it would all become this bad. The title "love in Vein" is referring to the fact that Heroin is the love he is getting from life, think about that statement a moment.

"supporting the game of life ......the pain...... broken chair that horror tray of fear wheres the warning warning killing me .......aching human heart except my patience is giving up on me....... "

He is talking about how his life has been degraded by his addiction for so long and how he is hating himself for it, and his patience for himself is expiring as he grows more despondent, and about how heroin has become a meaning for living, despite how much it kills him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
