"American Dream" as written by and Brett Gurewitz....
I hate my family, hate my school, speed limits and the golden rule.
Hate people who aren't what they seem, more than anything else, American Dream.
American Dream's gonna swallow you whole, it's bursting at the seam,
It'll sweep you away, so enjoy it today, tomorrow you'll be old thus useless.

American Dream
American Dream
American Dream, that's OK, 'cause no one dare give you away.

I hate my job, I hate your god, I hate hypocrites and common slobs.
Hate people who aren't what they seem, more than anything else, American Dream.
Promise me today I'll have a Chevrolet, with whitewalls on the side,
One boy, one girl, comfortable lies

The American Dream
American Dream
American Dream, that's ok, 'cause no one dare give you away.
American Dream!
(blah!)

General CommentHmmm....I'm definately going to have to disagree with everyone on this one. I think by living the "American Dream" you are just wasting your life away. By doing this you are not helping the future or trying to correct the present. Your life will not be important and you'll just drift by like all the billions of meaningless lives before you. You are just ensuring humanity's path to its bitter end...

General CommentNo one's purpose in life should be to gain the "American Dream". That is no life at all. But someone's purpose in life should not be to not gain the "American Dream" either. So my question is what is one's purpose? Money? A sound mind? Gain of knowlegde? Fighting conformity? Hating everyone who speaks about God? None of these will do. But the question remains...

General CommentI dunno... "The American Dream." A job? A family? Financial security? That doesn't sound too bad to me.

General CommentWTF are all of you people brain dead? I thought punk was about being who you are. These assholes have no clue about what makes you happy. If you want that stuff Then get it, but that wouldn't fit into Mr. Graffin's indoctrinating agenda. Why is this guy so pissed at this great place to live? it is not perfect but I am really happy to be able to pursue my dreams What ever they might be. If you have Mr. Graffin's way you will pursue the dreams he agrees with. What an asshole. Don't go to school and be a dumb fuck that marches to the orders of an atheist musician who has all the wrong answers. Don't get a job and just shoplift and live on the streets if that's your dream, just don't expect me to pay for you.
