I've sewn my seeds with a metric grosse
No footsteps go beyond it
I'll eat the death
Where the rooster crows
Flesh rodeo, yee-haw, it's
Just to push in your teardrops
Make you a cyclops
Breakin' the branches off your family tree
Keep you up like a fluffer girl
Ain't that enough of the
Look in the sewer for my pedigree
Your truly cause repeats its pulse
And makes your tears, if you needed too
Make me blow my brains out
Pointin' the gun
Put my neck in a noose
But I'm hangin' tough

Day, my, day, my, day, my, day, my
Day, my, day, my, day, my, day, my

Listen closer to your mother
You can hear ocean roar
Sittin' quiet in the corner
Put another record on
God hates a coward, sonny
Got a date with your VCR
Watch another action movie
Dream of me

On the only piano
Wrote the fuckin' concerto
Shoot pool with your eyeballs
Rack 'em up
Make a meal of your asshole
Gnaw on your fat soul
Dipping your heart in my vinegar
Like a million disappeared
Just how long did you think they would live
Prepare yourself
Come on defend
And everyone defend
And if you ever want to be
And give me something to kill
I'll never finish my plate
Or I'll burn it up

Day, by, day, my, day, my, day, my
Day, my, day, my, day, my, day, my

This song is about a bastard, probably a mean step dad with a huge ego.

I sow my seed with a metric Gross No footsteps go beyond it

He goes around knocking up every girl and makes them all get abortions.

I'll eat the dirt Where the rooster crows Flesh rodeos, yee-haw it's

This has some kind of pornographic connotation to it. Probably a poop fetish, and fleh rodeo is probably reference to a lap dance.

He is threatening his step son. He tells him that god hates a coward because he thinks the kid needs to learn how to be like him. Day, my day, my day (will come). I think is the allusion we are supposed to draw here. He is screaming like a mad man that his day will come.

I think he kills the kids mom in the middle of the song.

Then he is telling the kid why he did it and what he is going to do if the cops ever come to get him.

    Just my opinion.

    Song Meaning

this song for some reason just sticks with me alot lol.

so i thought i'd share my interpretation of this song...

it starts in a living room, a man in a chair drinking a

beer or whatever, sitting staring at nothing and speaking

to a sniffling adolescent male. and in a emotionless and

slightly evil tone he begins telling the boy his life story...

"all my life i've never wanted kids. so far as to make my

women get abortions. i've stuck my dick in everything from

strippers to cowgirls. and i swear if you start crying i'll tear

your eyes out. now then your mother was a whore, and if

you say anything i'll kill your family too. i'm a piece of shit and i know it.

and i want to kill myself, but i stick through it."

"you'll get yours" the boy mumbles under his breath and the man hears it.

" you hear your mother anywhere? i drowned her and stuck her

in the corner and you're not going to do shit about it. so fuck off and

listen to your music or go watch some action movie and wish you were as tough as them."

switch to fresh orphaned child a few years later

he sits writing music to have a place to pour out his

emotions instead of bottling them, then one day he writes a

song fantasizing about killing the man that killed his

mother. all the evil thing he would do with the corpse to

defile it. he keeps remembering that one day the murderous

man's day will come and it will be him to exact revenge.

one day he finally breaks and kills the man, but during

that he's panicking looking for a way to hide the

body; bury it, grind it up and flush it, nothing,

and he starts thinking people have known what he's done.

so int he end he finally decides to cut the body up,

pack it in a satchel or suitcase and burn it.

mike patton is a fucking genius.

This song is hypnotizingly catchy, but that's not what makes it good. It's got a cryptic sound to it and the lyrics that I can understand are great. I can't wait to see Tomahawk open for Tool!

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
