"Angel" as written by Chip Taylor, Ahmet Ertegun, Steve Miller and Eddie Curtis....
Shooby dooby dooby doo woi
Shooby doo
Shooby doo dooby doo boi woi

Chorus:Yeah, ah
Girl, you're my angel, you're my darling
Closer than my peeps you are to me,baby
Shorty, you're my angel,
You're my darling angel
Girl you're my friend when I'm in need,

Shaggy:Life is one big party when you're
still young
But who's gonna have your back
When it's all done
It's all good when you're little
You heva pure fun
Can't be a fool, son, what about the long run
Looking back shorty always a mention
Said me not giving her much attention
She was there through my incarceration
I wanna show the nation my appreciation

You're a queen and so you should be treated
Though you never get the loving that
you needed
Takin' a beaten, mission completed
Mama said that I and I dissed the program
Not the type to mess around with her
But the feeling that i have for you is
so strong
Been together so long and this
could never be wrong

Girl inspite of my behaviour
said I'm your saviour
(you must be sent from up above)
And you appear to me so tender, say girl
I surrender
(thanks for giving me your love)
Girl inspite of my behaviour,well,you
my saviour
(you must be sent from above)
And you appear to meso tender, well, girl
I surrender
(said thanks for giving me your love

repeat(verse 1)

General CommentI really like this song. I didn't when it first came out. But it holds a lot of memories. It's sweet and simple.

General CommentHow you get "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band out of this is beyond me. Thanks for the laugh.

General CommentJust in response to defunct - perhaps it's the fact that Angel uses the bassline from "The Joker" that turtonhot actually made the link?

General CommentOkay so apparantly the only relation this song has to the Steve Miller Band's "The Joker", is the bassline, but besides that absolutely no relation.

About the original version of this song, I have almost like 8000 songs on my iPod/comp, I have never heard of Juice Newton, I have heard of Bonnie Tyler. I didn't think she did the original of this song though, I thought it was by The Carpenters. But anyone, the original was definitely "Angel of the Morning", which is a song that is really good, and I love. But this song, I also love as well, I don't like any other Shaggy songs though.

General CommentI was under the impressing that the original version of this song was "Angel in the Morning", I can't remember the name of the woman who sings it, but I guarantee she has nothing to do with the Steve Miller Band.

General CommentBonnie Tyler....is like that old Def Leppard saying......It's Better to burn out, Then Fade Away. Oh....and this song is very good.
