"Sleeping in the Beetle Bug" as written by and Kevin Barnes....
Sleeping in the beetle bug
With a hundred pounds of air in my heart.
Don't think that I'm able to sympathize,
I'm happier to see it gone.
Floating above your house like a penguin
Dropping cherries from my mouth.
Tapping the walnuts
And the shadows out of a dreaming
Pair of brown eyed ghosts.

In each of your eyes, I saw it's spring,
Where every mouth wakes up to a smile and a yawn.
Grass is long and laughs
When the wind jumps through it.

It must have started with that stick in the mud.
That there's where clouds are born.
Clouds can't stay where they are born.
Winds push them so far from home.
The sound of your laughter
Tiptoeing across the floor
Makes the deepest of red umbrellas
Able to inflate my smile.

In each of your eyes, I saw it's spring,
Where every mouth wakes up to a smile and a yawn.
Grass is long and laughs when the wind jumps through it.

General CommentI love this. But what does it mean? Until I find out, I can only enjoy the music.

General CommentI have to agree with ggaaoo. I love the music in this song, but I can't really tell what it means.

General CommentI love how they have a song for every occasion. Most of the song doesn't make sense, but I can't help but be reminded of the time that my friends and I went to the School of Americas protest in Georgia and were incapable of pitching a tent, so all three of us slept in my beetle bug. Lana slept on the dashboard.

General CommentI think it's about sleeping in the beetle bug because the house flooded.

General Commentfor the longest time this whole song sounded like complete gobbledygook. just looking at it now i randomly thought, maybe it's about him, and possibly someone else, dying? "happier to see it's gone" as in their life..."floating above your house" like a ghost would..."pair of brown eyed ghosts" could be him and whoever he's with, "tapping the shadows out" of them could be their uncertainties from their life or something..."clouds can't stay where they are born, winds push them so far from home" might refer to having to move on to the afterlife. or, i could be completely wrong about all of it.
