Cristina, I'm tired of being so far away.
Yeah, I'm still here; I'm not going.
What if I try and stop?
I'm responsible for you.
Until the anchor breaks.
Four years ahead.
What are you thinking?
I feel so together.
I need you now.
You have faith, but I know that I won't last.
Aren't we so tired of waiting for days to end?
How do we tread on when these fuckers are making our plans?
Dear everyone, I've been thinking.
I feel misrepresented.
Things are moving too slow; I want the control of this.
"There's got to be some kind of way out of here."
It's a lie to only yourself.
When people have you figured, carvings that read, "idle will kill."
Goddamn, it gets so hard not knowing what's going on.
All the while I carry your cross.
Who owns these desires?
You haven't said a word but I understand.

i think this could be a song to a relative. i was thinking maybe his kid, but i dont' think that devon ever had one, or was going to. he's kind of young for that anyway. so it got me thinking that it could be about a newborn, or soon-to-be-born sister or something. "CHRISTINA I'M TIRED OF BEING SO FAR AWAY" he's dissapointed cause he's always away from her, since his band was touring and he didn't have time to be home.. "YEAH I'M STILL HERE, I'M NOT GOING" when he is around, he doesn't want her to think that he's going to leave right away, and wants to make the best of his time with her."I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU" he feels that since she's so young and innocent, that he's responsible to teach her and help her, but he's never there. "UNTIL THE ANCHOR BREAKS" he's supposed to be there until she becomes an adult, and ready to "set sail" on her own. "FOUR YEARS AHEAD, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING" he thinks that she's not going to think that greatly of him in a few years cause he won't be that big a part of her life. "I NEED YOU NOW, YOU HAVE FAITH, BUT I KNOW THAT IT WON'T LAST" he feels attached to her, and he knows that since she's so young right now, she kind of idleizes him. but because of the lack of time he's with her, she won't think of him that way for very long. "HOW DO WE TREAD ON WHEN THESE FUCKERS ARE MAKING OUR PLANS" since he was signed on to a pretty big record lable (Epitaph), he was forced to move around a lot, tour and such, and wasn't really able to make his own decisions or plans. "IDLE WILL KILL" he feels that he's going to hurt her, even though she idleizes him. 'GODDAMN IT GETS SO HARD NOT KNOWING WHAT'S GOING ON" since he's not there, he doesn't get to witness all of her "firsts". i love this song

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
